After My local branch closed needed new branch.. First thought was quiet impressed. . They even got machine outside which u can pay in cheques and cash.. which is great for me, until I went to use the outside facility.. travelled 25 minuets had to pay for parking,, then the machine I wanted to use was not working... what a waste time and money.. barclays is going down the pan, if I was going over drawn they would soon be messaging me to put money in my account.... if u r going to provide a machine then at least make sure it works.
What is wrong with Barclays as a whole, closing branches faster than they can be located, if you can find one still open counter services are rarely available or ques are out of the door. Trying to phone them up is equally frustrating and time consuming, with extraordinary long waiting times due to exceptional circumstances, maybe these circumstances are of Barclays making by closing nearly all the branches. I'm far from a technophobe, however I do not wish to do online banking or use an app, but this obviously does not fit in with Barclays business model. Having banked with them fo over 30yrs I'm fast questioning why I should continue. Furthermore the faceless decision makers who dreamt up this business model are putting the few remaining customer facing staff in a very confrontational position, Barclays do not appear interested in serving customers interests any longer.
Not enough staff available after 1430 when cashier desks close, stood waiting for 10 min"s before someone answered our question.
States open until 4.30pm but does not say counters close at 2.30pm. Was directed to a machine that would not accept my transaction.
BARCLAYS, WHERE IS YOUR HEART? It’s bad enough Barclays branch being a part time bank. We went in this afternoon and the desk was closed at 2pm, oh what a shock. One member of staff was roaming around asking customers what at they needed. One member of staff dealing with customers at the desk. We were told it could be a 30 minute wait until we were able to see someone. All this time more members of the public were swarming into the bank, but yet there was enough staff to keep up with the demand. The roaming member of staff was frustrated - they went behind the counter to the back room to ask for help. Two members of staff came out after a period of time. When we finally got to see the member of staff to deal with our issue, as per usual with the banking sector they always want to direct you in the way of doing everything yourself. They make interest on what you give them but do not did even provide an excepted level of consideration and courtesy for their elderly, vulnerable customers. No heart in banking, just a bunch of money grabbers. There is no way of complaining apart from getting in touch with the head office, bring back the complaints box!
Really poor service in this branch - after three visits and two promised phone calls that never happened, I ended up with a month's wait for an appointment with an advisor which got cancelled after I turned up for it. What makes it worse though, is that at each visit it takes ages to be seen by the single member of staff that can help, and when speaking to staff they are almost exclusively dismissive of my issues and/or rude. E.g. "yeah the advisor isn't in today so your appointment won't be happening". I got much better service at the Barclays in Birmingham centre - I recommend people go there instead.
Only giving one star as a zero not possible. Monday morning queued for nearly 30 minutes for counter service only one open -no surprises there When get to counter ask for some £1 pound coins and 50p bags not exactly high finance, to be told we haven't got any !!! This is Barclay's bank not some third world back street bank, absolutely abysmal bank who manages this place? Did check on leaving I hadn't gone to the local joke shop by mistake -unfortunately I hadn't though perhaps the managers here would be better suited to running one
Used Google to check location and noted the rating and skimmed a couple of reviews as was bringing 2 children. I have no idea why it is reviewed so poorly as my experience was utterly typical and in fact the nice staff member wondering the floor was exceptionally helpful, and returned to me to offer further help. Thank you.
Wish I could rate zero stars here. Absolutely atrocious customer service from the 2 ladies at the front. Only 1 working computer between them. And the counter staff just sat there, watching me twiddle my thumbs for 30 mins while waiting for assistance.
Went to pay in 2 cheques. Had to queue for the machine that paid in cheques for 22 minutes as the person at the start of the queue couldnt work it. Took an age for someone to come over by which time I had used a fair chunk of my dinner time to do a task that normally takes 60 seconds. I was done and dusted in 1 minute when my turn eventually came. This branch is not fit for the purpose it was made. It hinders the customer, it doesn't help them.
