I came here to do some work over 2 days... The landlord Tony is a straight up Gent... Nothing was too much trouble for him and his lovely family... Really welcoming and accommodated my visits on short notice twice I was working in the kitchen area yesterday and it's easy to see why the restaurant is so popular I watched the chefs preparing food and sending it out to customers, it really was something special... Fresh inviting and the presentation was fantastic... They say people eat with there eyes and the food going out from the kitchen was some of the best I've seen from any pub chain... Good portion sizes and quality meats, cooked by seasoned professionals... A winning combination for a great meal out. The chefs took a real pride in the dishes they were sending... And the Sizzlers were actually sizzling !! Very high standards in the kitchen from the chefs at The Old Horns... Well worth a visit... Big thanks to Tony and the team for looking after me
Didn't go for food but a few drinks and the service and settings atmosphere was great as was the music... Motown Reggae singer was very good. It was a nice pub to sit in and the toilets are clean too. Just a really nice pub in a good area too.Service: 5/5
Lovely pub, with delicious food , very welcomed staff ,we had a nice evening celebrating my parents' birthday. Sizzling dishes are made to perfection, and the deserts you must try Food: 5/5
A lovely place to have a meal. The place has two parkings, one in the front, were only couple cars fit, and then behind the pub, that allows more cars to park. The food was lovely, ordered some nachos and shared a chicken platter, which was a big portion. The staff was friendly. You can order food by using a sizzling app.
Just go and try the 2 meals for £11.00. We had the fish and chips with mushy peas and tatar sauce. Absolutely lovely. Better than chip shop. Loads more on the menu to choose from.Food: 5/5
Well well well, how should I start this review. We went to the Old Horns expecting a normal pub meal, nothing special just a basic meal, wow was I seriously disappointed and incorrect with what I expected. Where do I start, the Gammon was as hard as old leather boots and seriously chewy, there was no pineapple, the chips were okay but the egg was not only burst broke and hard should be runny unless otherwise requested but the edge of the egg was burnt on side look at the attached photo. I know that this is just a normal everyday pub meal, but as pub meals go this one was extremely low quality and amongst the worst pub meals that I've ever been served it's in the bottom 5 for sure. The cooks should be seriously ashamed of themselves, would they have cooked and served this trash to their own family at home, truly disappointing. The food did turn up nice and hot though.
Rude staff! Just walked out after being served by the rudest bar maid with blue hair. She did not want to be there or do her job, the manager on shift was no better; I have worked for sizzling for 6 years and never ever been treated so rudely! She walked off half way through ordering our food so we ended up walking out without eating or finishing our drinks. Utterly disgusted by the customer service received.
Only came here for a drink. The pint of Guinness was ok not great as it wasn't poured properly. The tables aren't really that clean as one table I sat next to had water stains still from the drinks and food on the table. Seems like they only clear the plates. I haven't tried the food but judging by the state of the place I will not be returning.
We had a delicious meal at the old horns tonight.the staff were wonderful & very friendly .a lovely atmosphere there .Will certainly be going again soon.Food: 5/5
The food today was lovely and the service was fine. However the ladies toilets were very disappointing. Considering the amount of refurbishments this pub has had over the years the toilets have hardly changed since I regularly drank there in the 80s. Today there was no lock on the cubicle door, not even a handle, just a hole in the wood which I needed to manoeuvre my finger through in order to open it to get out. They are very shabby and in need of attention. Also we arrived at 12pm which was opening time and yet there were lots of large crisp crumbs all over the seat at the table we had planned to sit at. These were obviously from the previous night because we had walked in just as the pub opened.
