Nice pub. Order from the bar. Food comes in a reasonable time. Great burger, tasted great, well cooked. Was a bit taken back by the size, as it seemed a bit small. Saw other burgers that were the same. Guess it is the norm now. Would have paid more for full sized burger. Excellent pint of stout.
We popped in after a walk around the shops and because it was cold lol. The staff were lovely and they have a wide selection of beers and ales.
We visited the 0ld Bell Tavern on 1st January 2023. We were made to feel very welcome and it was a friendly atmosphere. Dogs are very welcome too and there are water bowls and doggy treats available. We had a snack of scampi and paté - both were delicious. Another visitor was having Sunday lunch and it looked lovely.

Lovely friendly pub with quite a few surprises with lagers Upto 12% ! Apparently the Sunday dinners are fantastic though not tried one yet. Don't normally need to book.
My happy place. Spacious room with great seating and good background music. Food excellent and pies to die for. Live music and bar staff that can talk about The Levelers. What's not to like.
Rude, lobotomised staff. Children condemned to a dark, noisy room even if they’re well-behaved and quiet. Dogs allowed in adult—only bar bit. Bizarre! Also, poor range of cider.
This is a very fine pub with a good range of decent craft ales and comfortable seating. As it was just opposite our hotel it became a real home from home! We didn't eat while there, but plenty were...
