A really nice pub on the roundabout, the live music was good and service was great! Wouldn't mind going back when I'm in the area again. Decent social atmosphere.
Been here twice for food. Both were busy times of the day, on a weekend. 1st time was good however we a table for 2 were placed on a large table right in front of the TV when sports were playing. You'd have thought the staff would've reserved a more appropriate place for us to sit. 2nd time the 2 female staff lied and said that we didn't have a booking on their system and practically shrugged us off. They clearly hadn't bothered to reserve a table, and suggested we find our own seats - which was impossible. Luckily one of the male staff found us a table that was likely the one we had reserved anyway. I don't expect to be treated like royalty in a cheap pub, but at least take the time to put a sign to show a table is reserved. A shame as the food is really great and at a good price. But, it's not worth it if most of the staff are blasé about not doing things they should have done. Perhaps consider placing the male staff that helped in a more managerial position. Overall, come for food - but not during busy times of the weekend.
Great pub to while away a few hours in or have a meal with friends. The staff are helpful and friendly and they have pool and darts - what more does a pub need? They also show popular sports matches.
We don't come here often but it's been pleasant over the last year when we have. It's got nice open spaces Inside and is clean and tidy. We've enjoyed quiet afternoons, but haven't been on an evening for a long time. There's a pool table and they show BT Sports which might get get there for an evening actually!. The service at the bar was pretty disappointing on our last visit, but nicely overshadowed by the food service. The menu is small, and not great for me being coeliac, there wasn't anything I could adapt and didn't fancy getting into detailed discussion about options with the bar staff. So I opted not to eat, but my other half chose a pizza and was really impressed- love that they have a pizza oven on site!
REOPENED 24/01/19 after renovation . I have only visited the outside so far , and that only from the exterior at night! Part of the renovation appears to be two new smoking ? sheds at the front of the building . There’s a large outdoor patio with chairs and tables which now is well lit at night . The car park to the rear is also well lit and patrons are advised to record their vehicle reg at the bar . There is a smoking shed by the rear door . This door is also the disabled entrance , and is flat and level into the building . There is also a handrail. Disabled parking I found a little disappointing as there were three marked bays next to rear door but they were not sized out properly and a side loading wheelchair would have great difficulty due to the spacing between spaces not being adequate . My vehicle is rear loading and is quite large , but the space looked small. It’s also a sloping car park and I shall return to assess the building and check out the interior .
The Old Ball is a great pub to visit for food and/or drinks depending on what you fancy. The meals are reasonably priced as well as the drinks. Service is good but can be a little slow if busy. Saying that the staff are always on the ball and friendly. Special mention to Millie, Sam and the team for doing an awesome job keeping us punters fed and water throughout the year. Highly recommend a visit if you're ever visiting Horsforth.

We loved the food, it was all cooked to perfection and nice and hot. Pizza was fab, the young lady server was very polite and helpful. Didn't realise LUFC were playing so a little noisy but overall a good experience.Food: 5/5
I had the Notorious P.I.G burger, honestly the best thing I'd tasted in a long while. Be careful when ordering through the QR code, I ended up with side salad instead of chips.
Really a great place to spend your evening.... Watching your favourite sport and having a good tasty food
