Good pub, good food. It's your standard Toby Carvery, and has been consistently good for the past few years. Booking on a Sunday is a must, but mid week you can turn up and get a table. There's a decent amount of parking for a standard day, but maybe not a Sunday lunch time.
We had a carvery here yesterday - 3 Adults and 3 children. Every bit of the carvery was lovely. It was good before but this particular time it was outstanding! Chefs great and waiting Staff also lovely and helpful 5* from all of us.
Food was delicious just some vegetables was hard especially the cauliflower cheese. They had no veg fingers for 2 of my kids so they ended up with just a meat free carvery. The lady that served us was very rushy and didn't speak overly nice to us however we heard her serve a different family which was treat different to us. Vegetarian options: They hardly ever have veg fingers, or chicken nuggets
A nice catch-up with family over an unlimited breakfast was great. Venue is a little rabbit warren-like but nice. There's plenty of choice and it's help yourself but refillable drinks are just teas and coffee, not refillable lattes etc which you can get at other chains and easily make up the price difference.
Good roast. Went on a really busy evening so had to sit back down to wait for new food to be available on the carvery. Wasn't it a rush but wasn't a problem. Always a fan of a Toby. Car park quite small it was busy as I said so was one in and one out so had a short wait for a space. Will be back. Service good have been faster when it came to getting the bill.
Kath was our lovely waitress, she was very friendly and welcoming. She took us straight to a table and asked if we’d like to have drinks with our meal. The food, as always was tasty and hot. We had visited your Chapel Allerton pub recently and can honestly say the food, staff and atmosphere doesn’t have a scratch on Horsforth. Well done everyone you’re the best!
Had a lovely breakfast. Good hot food with as much as you want. Free flow tea and coffee. Not rushed and pleasant friendly staff. We'll worth the visit and reasonable prices. Would visit again. Kid-friendliness: Santa was there to speak to the children of all ages. Children's colouring pictures and crayons supplied.
The service was fantastic; Kathleen and another waitress were so attentive and friendly. The chefs serving the food were very accommodating and happy. Lots of joy in this establishment by the staff spreading harmony and goodwill to all!!
Usually the best Toby in my opinion, this week was a little different, the food is always better at Horsforth Toby’s but this week the Yorkshires were flat and difficult to cut, the mash was exceptionally dry, the roast potatoes were neither fluffy nor crispy and the “famous Toby Gravy” was, hand to god, just brown water and flooded the plate immediately. This is a very, VERY busy restaurant, especially on a Sunday afternoon, hopefully that was the reason, Shane really that somewhere famous for a roast couldn’t get the roast part done this time.
Absolute top quality food and service on our visit today. Reece, our server, was so kind and helpful! Really sweet bloke and nothing was too much trouble. Give this kid a raise! 100% would recommend.
