Great cinema. Only disappointment is that no extra special seats. We have Limitless and had to pay £2 each for Premium seats which weren't worth it as they don't recline and are no bigger than standard. Liked it there though.
Love this cinema. Perfect location with some shops and cafe's near by. When we went there last week, wasn't very crowded, probably due to the time we have been there quite late in the evening . In total only 10 people including us were watching movie with us. There was one member staff at the main entrance door, making everyone to fill in and post their details through the box NHS covid contact & trace related before entering building. Face masks needs to be worn. If you don't have mask, you won't be allowed in. Snack and drinks needs to be ordered through ticket machines. Staff there always helpful and polite. Lots of parking just outside of the cinema or short distance from it, depends where you decide to park your car.
One star missing due to the not so nice smelling lady's loo,s. Would prefer the smell of bleach anyday and not the the stench of old pipes. A regular cleaner to spray something floral would suffice. My partner and I enjoyed our film despite the four younger members of the generation who preferred to annoy everyone else for most of the film by their constant talking and using their mobile phones with their screen,s lighting up every few minutes and another,s mobile phone allowing her camera flash to flash which pretty much lit up their area to the side of us assuming this flash was each time she sent or received a message. Much to everyone,s delight the four were eventually removed so the rest of us that had paid to watch the film could do so in peace and enjoy.
They leave the lights on throughout the film and refuse to turn them down. The end result is a washed out picture where you can't see anything in dark scenes. This has happened on multiple visits in different screens, and they blame health and safety. They do however turn the lights down at the Odeon in Maidstone, so suggest going there instead.
1st time visit, was clean and sort of comfy, would suggest that if you are letting a group of teenagers in unaccompanied,.maybe have some intermittent checking as 3 girls sat behind us as talked all the way through spoiling the movie for anyone sitting around them. These days unfortunately people are reluctant to say anything for fear of reprisals
IMAX theater gave the best service. Watched AVATAR - the way of water
Not worth visiting unless you are watching an IMAX film. The other screens have bright overhead LED lights that don't dim very well. This feels like watching TV with the main lights on and makes the screen look washed out with poor contrast. I spoke with one of the staff who said they are as dim as they go and they've had lots of comments about them. Also some of the speakers rattle/resonate with certain sounds like piano etc. The combination a dim projector, bright dimmed lights and rattling speakers makes it very had to become immersed in any film. This makes the IMAX experience so much better, it just a shame it costs so much.
Well film was good but the way of going around getting tickets now I hate as have to use the machines on the walls to order your tickets as well as food drink & snacks, it has really lost the personal touch, well done Odeon...
Went here on Thursday 5th January to see Matilda the musical. The film itself was great but the cinema was freezing cold and screen 8 hadn't been cleaned prior to our showing as it was full of rubbish. The toilets had no loo roll either to be honest I've never been there when they do plus they smelt awful. We informed a member of the team who apologised. ‍ Poor show Odeon Chatham.
I had a party at odeon dockside for my sons 11th birthday a private showing for just him and his friends I had made a movie clip to be shown before the movie started. They didn’t show it before it started so I went to speak to the team that was working and they said they will try speak to who ever concerned to try and get it on after, they was unable to . So the lady Steph was amazing help and got the childten all a snack and a drink, and extra cinema tickets .she honestly went above and beyond for us and I can’t thank her enough for making it amazing and being patient with 16 crazy children! Respect where it’s due thanks so much Steph!!!!!!
