It’s not so bad , but really old cinema . We’ve seen “Thor . Love and Thunder”. Honestly, a bit boring . But if you want smth close to city center , you can get ticket to this cinema
A large cinema with 8 screens and air con in each. The building is in need of refurbishment but the screens are good and even the basic seats are comfy. Some screen stair lights are a little too bright even after dimming but this is understandable along with exit signs and a personal preference for total black out in the screens. Big selection of food, drinks and sweets. Staff are usually visibly and helpful if approached. The biggest problem is the audience usually, often looking at phones repeatedly or talking, often needing to intervene personally to actually enjoy the film.
I'm afraid we only used this venue due to being gifted some free tickets. This cinema chain isn't usually our first choice. We were a bit lost when collecting tickets as it wasn't made obvious that you just scanned the app on your phone. The floor was marked with "collection area" stickers on a particular till, yet it was closed. And I got quite a 'look' when I asked how we get them. In other cinema chains, you're able to check-in on the self-service machines in the lobby area, then show your ticket to an attendant. We found this particular building to be very clean and modern in the lobby area. But once you go and find your screen, then you see the peeling paint, lumpy flooring, and aged look of the building. The cinema screens themselves are really modern and comfortable. We had an enjoyable experience watching our chosen film, which happened to be 3hrs long. I've yet to find a seat that's comfortable for that long.
Sad a dated cinema, over priced films and refreshments, saw movie in screen 8 it was a tiny screen , uncomfortable seats and poor sound , it’s no wonder no one’s going to cinema any more . Clean and friendly staff saved the day , we will always go to Cineworld at marina in future, well until they go bust anyway
Paid quite a lot to see the new Avatar film. The quality and size of the screen is so poor and the colours looked very desaturated compared with the trailer I'd seen on my phone/computer. The sound was also way too low and the quality of the audio itself was below par. The seats are very basic and anyone over a size 16 which is an average UK size should expect to feel uncomfortable. I really enjoyed the film but was massively let down by the entire cinema experience. Such a shame because it's a perfect location - I wish they'd just renovate the whole place! I recommend going to Brighton marina instead to see this masterpiece of a film.
It was virtually empty, which was great. It seemed clean enough. The chair wasn’t comfortable, but then the average cinema chair isn’t. Overall, the experience was good.
Not the best, good for a casual movie. It is generally noisy and the seats are not the most comfortable. I get the tickets as a benefit from a different product. I wouldn't pay for them.
i am fuming! billie eilish is my live and some people like me cannot afford to go to her concert this year so this was the next best thing. when my dad booked the tickets it did not have an age rating and it just said child must go with adult but suddenly last minute we have found out its changed too a 15 and im 15 in 1 month?! keep in mind me and my dad booked these tickets before they changed it and aslo her actual concerts are for any age as-long as there is a parent so whats the difference????
I was going to give this cinema one star but the staff are friendly and so it will be two. What's wrong with this cinema? In short, it's run-down and is in bad need of renovation. The halls and reception areas are huge and brightly lit, and good for channeling hundreds of people, but little thought has gone into making the place looks nice. All it would take is a lick of paint, some decent posters and good lighting. The cinema management could even consider investing some of their profits in Brighton artists. Why not ask them to decorate the place? I'm not sure anywhere in Britain has more artists than Brighton. Going to this cinema is like visiting a venue in one of Britain's decrepit seaside resorts, of which there are many, but I suspect those places that area lot less rich than Brighton have made more effort. I certainly haven't seen such a shabby cinema in years. My local cinema in Scotland is in Galashiels, which is a poor town people say is ugly. But they have made an effort with their cinema and their reception/hallway areas are way better than in Brighton. I find this really surprising as the Odeon is a huge company and it must have plenty of spare change to do up this prime piece of real estate, located on the seafront in one of Britain's busiest town. But this comment can be breezily dismissed by Odeon who could say "well, we have the main cinema in Brighton, the only show in town, so there's no need to do it up as the punters will keep coming anyway." And the sad thing is that we probably will as when you go and see a film you don't really care about the decor of the entrance hall.
Great location if you’re staying around any of the waterfront hotels near Brighton Pier however the cinema is a bit dated. The Screen we were in when we went to watch Top Gun was very small and did not seem to have air conditioning, it was super hot in there on a warm summers day! The film however was amazing, definitely recommended.
