Emergency problem which saw my optician get me into the Shrewsbury Hospital on the same day. Asked by the consultant to change medication immediately so rang the surgery while there. Receptionist refused to make an appointment within three weeks so had to join the 8:30 lottery the following day. Obviously the booking system is based on administrative ease and not clinical need and how on earth a receptionist thinks they know medical need better than a consultant is beyond me. They need to get their priorities sorted.

Takes ages to get through on the phone. Whether it is because they haven’t switched the phone lines on, or your in a very long queue or the phone is actually ringing and ringing and ringing. I’ve been trying to sign up to online booking but none of the administration team will get back to me about my login in details. I have a continuing health problem that they don’t seem interested in or wanting to sort. I’ve been back and forth for months and months and I’m getting no answers. I previously moved from charlton Doctors who were just as bad. Are they all this bad I wonder.

The practice is very good medically but seems to be struggling administratively. It is now part of the Teldoc partnership of Telford doctors. The automatic check in system is now working but only one screen. The patients have to queue up for lengthy periods of time to seen at the reception desk. I have called in twice recently ( November 2017 ) and over ten people have been in the queue waiting to be seen. The staff on the desk seem to always busy with usually only one member of staff. Things such as repeat prescriptions are now taking much longer to be processed. A letter from my wife's specialist to prescribe her new medicine took over a week to be processed after it had arrived . On going to collect the letter had not been acted upon, went back three days later and it was still with doctor. Went back the next day and it was there but had not been signed . It is so frustrating to deal with these issues when you are already unwell!

Bad system, they need one like 111 to prevent time wasters clogging up the phone, even after waiting hours for an answear was told no appointments for 17 days!! Had to phone 111,which have now got this practice to see me on emergency, my suggestion is have a separate line for test results and prescriptions, or get an automated system to stem the flow of people phoning for advice and info ECT, like 111 has.

Impossible to get an appointment to see a doctor anymore. They apparently ring you back....How am I supposed to answer the phone when I'm at work? If I get caught it's a verbal warning. Ridiculous policy. Obviously catering to non-employed people.
