Really lovely care home. The residents here are cared after very well. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The premises is exceptional, it is very clean and decorated with no detail spared. The communal areas are very homely, with TV rooms kitchens and multiple sitting rooms. The residents private rooms are comfy and have excellent wet rooms allowing for maximum independence. The food here is great and the portions are plentyful, also the chef can cater for all food preferences. The outside grounds are well landscaped and well maintained.
What a beautiful home, with such a warm welcoming feel, from Managers warm welcome to all the staff. A home full of smiles.

My family have quite literally been to hell and back with this home. It is absolutely OUTRAGEOUS that the current Google review is 4.8* - as this couldn’t be a more of a misrepresentation. Note that a considerable number of the reviews are in fact staff members.nnNeglect, thefts, lack of management and basic care, taking advantage of residents vulnerabilities - this home fails on all fronts, in fact, this home fails to meet even the most fundamental level of care their residents need and require. No personal care, showering/teeth cleaning. Residents in incontinence pads who aren’t incontinent, it’s seemingly too much of a chore to remind a dementia patient how to go to the bathroom.nnWhen my grandfather with advanced dementia was struggling to walk, staff left meals the other side of his bedroom, then removed them when seeing they’d not been eaten, resulting in a 7kg weight loss in a single month.nnThis home has churned out 4 managers in the 18 months that we have had dealings with them. How can any business, especially a nursing home deliver and fulfil its promises when it’s staff and key personnel have zero continuity. We trusted them to care for our beloved grandparents and we were let down and disgraced at every opportunity. Numerous meetings even with senior management made no improvement… if anything the care worsened.nnPlease save your pain and heartache. avoid at all costs.
Both of my grandparents resided at Oakdale, and what looks to be a beautiful newly built home is rotten to the core.nnI do not wish for any other family to experience what has been an atrocious experience for my family.nnMy Grandma sadly passed away there in August 2022, and we thankfully moved my Grandfather before he died last week.nn- Thieving members of staffn- No management in spite of lots of ‘managers’n- No personal care undertakenn- Neglectn- Advantage taken of the most vulnerablen- Most of the staff are agency/bank/temporaryn- Nobody accountable, blame each other for failingsnnAs Grandma was nearing the end of her life, a member of staff stole all of her jewellery, including her 5th generation wedding ring and other inherited items. There is an ongoing police investigation with us and the 12 other affected families. The home are yet to establish or properly investigate who is the culprit. Even after residents families have banded together and can narrow the perpetrator down to a 24hour period.nnThe longest serving member of staff has only been there 6 months. Any team member who is good leaves shortly after arriving when they realise the state of affairs, a sizeable percentage of staff are agency workers and there is no continuity, which is even worse for dementia patients.nnIn addition to the numerous thefts and complete violation and neglect of the most vulnerable people, just weeks after my Nanny died, my Grandfather her husband was left for weeks without any personal care we forced ourselves not to intervene to see how long it went on for at the fortnight mark it surmounted to neglect and we raised it as an issue. Changes were promised and apologies were made by senior management with commitments to address the most basic level of care, unsurprisingly with no change. In fact it got worse and our next few visits were met us witnessing my grandfather wearing incontinence pads, as showing an elderly man with dementia to the bathroom seemingly became too much of a chore also.nnThis experience has been utterly heartbreaking for my entire family at a time when our loved ones should be shown the respect, care and love they deserve, nearing the end of their lives.
