Lovely hotel, spacious room, just a little dated. Noisy due to no soundproofing between rooms but it wasn't a big issue for us. Breakfast served to the room for a small charge. Only stayed one night after getting off the ferry, very close to the port. Recommended.
Rooms are massive but very dated and need massive overhaul but keeping it traditional Scottish will suit it well. Wifi offered in the hotel is by far the worst I've had to use in any hotel..ever...nnFood is great, tastes amazing and good selection but is expensive considering portion size. You need a new toastersnnStaff are great and very accommodating. Considering this hotel size, location and heritage it has great potential to be great.
Lovely boutique hotel close to everything in town and a short walk from train station. Once the house of an accomplished arctic explorer it is now a hotel with its own curling rink which makes it a destination for curling competitions in winter. Nice bar and dining room has an understated elegance. Had a great stay here.
Pleasantly surprised! The room was spacious and clean. Food was excellent. Staff friendly. The icing on the cake was the curling. Brilliant, would definitely recommend.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The food choice was fantastic. The room had a fabulous view of the harbour and Loch Ryan. But the person who made it for us was the person in charge of the dining room never got his name unfotunately however we are booked again for next year so looking forward to meeting him again .
