Another fabulous week at Norburton Hall. Very peaceful and relaxing place to stay, convenient for the beach and a couple of nice pubs in the village which offer good food. Our cottage was well equipped , very clean and very reasonably priced. Highly recommended for anybody who just wants to chill out or ideally placed for visiting the local towns or walking. Will certainly be visiting again

THE DAIRY COTTAGE WAS GREAT Our 6th visit to Norburton Hall, but our first time staying in the Dairy Cottage - we liked it !! The accommodation was exactly what we wanted, with a good well-provisioned kitchen and a large living area with comfy furniture. The first floor bedroom was of a generous size with a well-fitted bathroom adjoining. The front patio doors opened directly onto a large south-facing paved terrace with immediate access into the surrounding extensive grounds. Karen was as welcoming as ever and we immediately caught up with news since our previous visit. Each morning she raided her chicken coup to find us eggs, not that plentiful in late October being towards the end of the laying season. We visited our usual haunts, namely West Bay, Abbotsbury, Weymouth and Lyme Regis, together with a longer trip to the Poole Pottery Worksop, returning via Swanage. One disappointment was on our usual walk from Norburton to the Anchor pub in Seatown via the coastal path. The thought of lunchtime fresh crab sandwiches followed by warm Dorset apple cake with lashings of clotted cream permeates ones thoughts during the final mile or so and we were therefore most upset to see the pub, easily visible from the top of the last hill, surrounded by fencing and firmly closed whilst undergoing extensive renovations. An additional mile trek inland led us to The George at Chideock which proved to be a good substitute, albeit without that delicious apple cake ! Despite being late in the season, we enjoyed good sunny periods for much of the week.
