Maya (hairdresser) did highlights and got me a hair cut for a second time in the Nicholas Hair salon, I'm very happy with both results, definitely will be coming back and would highly recommend to anyone.

If you want a cheap haircut for something basic, you could go here but my personal experience wasn't very good for many reasons. 

As is customary when you want to change your hairstyle, I brought in a picture of the hairstyle I wanted and she initially agreed to cut my hair like it. My one requirement was that I really didn't want a side fringe, which I casually mentioned several times in conversation with her.
It was clear she wasn't listening to me or referencing the photo in front of us.
She gave me a side fringe anyway. 
I hadn't been made to feel welcome when I entered either. Somebody was doing something (other than the obvious) in the toilet as it was the only other room in the Salon. 
Lack of good manners - nobody offered me tea or water either, or offered to hang my coat up so I just had to sit with it while I sat in silence for a while. 

She was also rude about the eczema I have in my ears as she said "Eurgh, we'll get rid of that" and aggressively rubbed hot water into my ears during the hair-washing process. It was strange and uncomfortable.
Due to the lack of staff and regular customers sitting on the sofa, she rushed the final part of my haircut. When I expressed obvious dissatisfaction with the result, she laughed "Well it's not going to look like the picture" which is 1) untrue - her job is to cut and style hair and 2) my hair looked completely different to the style I asked for. I had been given a generic haircut.

Plus, I called earlier to ask about price - was quoted £17-20. When I got to the desk the price raised to £25. 
My reason for this review is because this is not the way to do business - try to be more courteous, listen to the customer and consider hiring more staff in future.

Always a level of courtesy and friendliness that is only matched by their competence...oh and also their excellent value for money!

Have been using this place for years now and have never had any reason to look elsewhere. Recommended.

I've been there twice now and have no idea why there never seems to be a queue... Excellent price, great quality - and the staff are lovely.
