Stayed nearby for a few days and went here for a drink one evening. First thing we noticed while walking up was the litter that was all around. Plastic bottles, sweet wrappers, napkins all lying on the ground and on the tables outside. Most of the tables outside were taken and those that weren’t hadn’t been cleared of glasses, so we decided to go inside where it was very quiet and ordered some drinks. On telling the female member of bar staff about the litter situation outside she just stared at me. Eventually a colleague at some distance said firmly they had been really busy and not been able to get out to sort it. I made my way to a clear table to be told the drinks area was in the other direction. Here there was one table taken, six or seven with dirty glasses left on them. We took the only spare one, downed our drinks and left in record time. On passing here for the next couple of days the litter situation didn’t change. Given all the talk about extra cleaning due to Covid, you really have to roll your eyes when you see a place in this state. This place is actually in a great situation beside the harbour, the outside seating area could be much more appealing if it was at least cleaned.
I was very impressed with the service at this brewers fayre speaking with the manager Loudis who was extremely helpful and understanding to knowing I review restaurants. I really can recommend eating here as to service. I did try to use a valid voucher code and did not work online on the payment till. The manager went the extra mile to help me to be honest. All I can say is go and visit see for yourself. Customer service overall was acceptable. The location and views are amazing here on the sea front with the lighthouse that's a positive for me and including the food and desserts and meeting the amazing manager of this restaurant I am going by her professionalism on the star rating.
This was convenient as we were staying in the Premier Inn next door. We were seated fairly quickly and then ordered our food at the bar. We ordered two meals and drinks. One meal being fish and chips and the other was the chicken combo. The food came quick enough and was nice and hot and served in a friendly manner. The food went down a treat after walking all day round Edinburgh. They forgot the side we ordered but brought it out quickly after we mentioned it. All in all it was a good meal.
Had to edit this as my girlfriend got food just after me and it was terrible. Took over an hour to get garlic bread and the burger but was rock solid. She got a full refund but the manager was rude
A very nice restaurant, who are very friendly and great food and drinks at reasonable prices. When ever we go to Edinburgh, we also go here. The last time was eventful evening, as their fire alarm was activated, meaning the restaurant and near by Premier Inn had to be evacuated until the fire chief gave the go ahead to return. Staff were very professional and offered refunds on missed orders etc. We had eaten up until the sweets were eaten. We finished our food after a small delay in bringing the last of the sweets to us. Brilliant done
Only good thing about this place was the last that was serving us, her English was not great but she was very polite and helpful. Waited 1 hour for food, my steak was stone cold yet chips where red hot. Paid for a cup of tea then found only tea was herbal or fruit. Very understaffed and looking at reviews it is a very common practice at this site, even though the place was barely half full.
A nightmare from start to finish. We were a party of 6 with one disabled guest included. We were greeted by a young lady who looked like she didn't want to be there. We asked for wheelchair access to an easy table and this seemed to be a lot of trouble for her. We then queued for 25 minutes to have our order taken. When we got to the order point lots of items were not available and so this added to the frustration. On delivery of the food the waitress was passing hot food over the head of our disabled guest and we made it clear this wasn't acceptable in the slightest. She even argued that she knew what she was doing which tested our patience. Utterly appalling. We ordered fish gougons for a starter and received chicken. The miserable young lady that greeted us argued that it was fish. It was definitely chicken and she took the food away with no apology. We were promised a refund but never got it. The food was disgusting and extremely brown which shows the fryers need cleaning. We ordered three desserts and two were not available. We just had enough, paid and left. We had come from England to be with our terminally ill auntie and this woeful, miserable place will leave a stain on our visit. I feel sorry for all Premier Inn guests that have to use this restaurant. Disgusting, unprofessional dump of a place. Avoid at all costs. They don't deserve paying customers.
Brewers Fayre are always a great place to go especially with family. Our visit was a brief visit but the music was really loud and the restaurant itself was on the cool side. Granted it was the middle of the week so wasn't very busy. Staff were very friendly and helpful. No stars for food as we didn't have any.Service: 4/5
Only choose this place if you wish to stand for 15 minutes at the wait for to be seated. Finally the girl who asked what I wanted she had very little English and I had to explain 3 times that I wanted a table for a meal Although there were plenty of empty tables and the time was 8pm I was told firstly that the kitchen was closed then she changed her mind and said the kitchen was closed. This is the last time I will ever use Premier Inn and anyone reading this should avoid eating in their restaurants.
Allows me to order drinks and sit down only to be told they are longer “dog friendly” I had the dog with me when I was at the bar and nothing was said. OK could have missed it so checked on way out what was said on the doors / entrance. Nothing at all. Most in fact every other pub I go to locally is dog friendly. Find somewhere else if you are with your pooch
