Lovely hotel set in lovely grounds. The food, customer service & the swimming pool area was brilliant. Would definitely stay again. Rooms lovely & clean, comfy bed etc. The only downfall was that two pints of lemonade came to £8, for an extra £1 I could've ordered two pints of beers. We really enjoyed ourselves

Stayed at the hotel for one night while attending a wedding. The service was excellent. The food was really well presented and tasted 1st class. The staff were all brilliant. The grounds of the hotel are obviously vast and really well taken care of. All in all a brilliant place to stay.

Very friendly, excellent chalets. Ours was a chalet for disabled persons which had a wonderful wet room. The food is excellent with a very comprehensive dinner menu. Lovely buffet breakfast with full English breakfast. A nice coffee lounge in the main house which overlooks the gardens. We use their cruise and stay package which is very reasonable.

A 3-star hotel that meets the grading. This hotel is akin to a standard best western. The main house (for conferences and weddings) has plenty of old features and character. The accommodation is somewhat disappointing. Thin walls mean you hear the conversations for people talking at normal volume next door. The bed is reasonably comfortable. The size of the room and the quality of the ensuite is standard. The accommodation block is not part of the historic house but on streets of 'chalets' a short walk from reception. The gym is very basic - a couple of running machines, a rower, a few weights and resistance machines. The pool is larger than normal for a 3*, but nothing special. There is a reasonable amount of parking, though this quickly fills up. A surprisingly high number of security cameras - felt like I was being watched. Staff were broadly pleasant and keen to help. Overall, it was fine for a cheap night to break up a journey; not really a 'get away for a holiday' hotel.

Fantastic short stay here with my wife and baby. We were very well looked after by Norman and his colleagues. We stayed in one of the newly refurbished rooms (room 50) which was very comfortable and were able to park right outside the room - ideal with all our baby paraphernalia. The swimming pool was a real treat and perfect for our little one to have her first ever dip in. We ate dinner and breakfast, both meals were first rate. All in all highly recommended. We will be back!
