Mixed... a great hotel if you have kids, I couldn't recommend it more, wonderful setting, loads to do for kids. The spa is good too, some elements were not working when we stayed. The outdoor hot tub with a view if the forrest is a nice touch. I'd rate everything other than the food and the service as 4 stars. The food doesn't live up to the setting and the service lacks direction. I'd stay again but eat out next time.

The childcare was second to none. But the service was very patchy. We were left waiting for a wine for an hour because they had no corkscrews?! A good dose of decent management training in better autonomous thinking by the waiting and hospitality staff is what this otherwise lovely hotel needs to keep pace with the rest of this fabulous chain. Also - sort out the kids toys! Total mess - this is what you pride yourselves on. Get more women’s wellies in sizes women actually are (most common avg. size is 6, you have no boots in this size!)

A great hotel. Would definitely recommend. We knew this was a luxury, child friendly hotel but we were still surprised at just how good it was! With highchairs, cots, change mats, nappy bins, crèche, play room/cinema, outside toys, video montior included/free to use and then the food and service were fantastic. The spa was super nice too. It was a shame we couldn't use the pool when we visited but we were allow free use of the pool at the hotel down the road.

Lovely spa day and afternoon tea. Spa was lovely and the staff really helpful and approachable. Would highly recommend

This could be a really nice place for a spa day. However, it needs to decide if it wants to be a family friendly swimming pool or a relaxing spa for adults. It is trying to cater to both groups and it just doesn't work. On the day we went it felt more like a public swimming pool than a place to relax. There were families with children using the pool the whole time. The other big problem is that there are only TWO beds and a few chairs to sit on. This is a great place for local families to have a swim and a sauna but not set up for spa days. Our treatments were pretty good but overall, a big disappointment.
