Came into town today with my reluctant daughter to access her cash to find the branch closed for refurbishment. I'm absolutely fuming at the knock on problems it's given me.
No body informed me that the city branch was closed. On going there I saw the notice and that the branch in Meadowhall was open. Got the tram out there to be told I could not pay in cash. It was a 'CONCEPT branch. Basically for enquiries about online banking and sales. Made a complaint for what it was worth and decided to switch my accounts . How hard would it have been for them
Nationwide should have kept an ATM operational during Sheffield refurbishment. Deposits have a nightmare. Cheques supposedly lost in post. Postage expensive. No concern for customers.
Closed for refurbishment, even the machine doesn't work, so can't make any deposits, taking the mick this. Next nationwide is 5 miles away, I'm closing my account as soon as it opens
No warning just closed for refurbishment nearest other branch 5miles away not good for people who don't drive at least you could have setup a machine for deposits

Booked an appointment for 10am. Got there at 9:50. Was made a coffee and the guy saw us pretty much straight away. No high pressure selling. He Reuben was charming and fun. He made doing banking stuff not a chore. If I had 1 criticism it was that the piped music was a little bit loud.

Nationwide is one of the best Building Societies i've ever banked with. They are always helpful, you speak to people in the UK when you call their number, they answer emails quickly and they always give you the best advice. I have banked with Nationwide for over 15 years and before that i was with HSBC, who in comparison are rubbish :
Staff completely useless and couldn't give me a straight answer with a problem in my account. Said the problem wasn't their fault and sent me to Experian and Natwest. However, when I contacted these two they said the problem was with Nationwide. They give you a total run around.
