We had a lovely breakfast here yesterday and would definitely come back. The setting has a lovely country feel and the staff were welcoming, friendly and accommodating.nnThe food was fantastic. The pancakes were absolutely delicious and the full English breakfast was just as impressive – generous portions and freshly cooked.nnHighly recommended if you’re looking for somewhere in/near Burntwood for a lovely breakfast !
Situated on the very edge of the small town of Burntwood, a spring time visit to The Nags Head Part of the Chef &Brewer Collection with its green foliage picturesque surroundings was a welcoming experience. Has plentiful parking which emphasised that it was more than suitable to cater for larger events.nBeing a Bank Holiday Sunday we decided to book in advance.nWalking through the door into its cosy and comfortable surroundings, we were greeted with a smile by Ray, who showed us the way to our table. Ray pointed out that Chef’s Specials Board as well as handing us the traditional menu, which also consisted of a variety of vegetarian options. The drinks and wine list was extensive but we played it safe with a couple of refreshing mocktails.nWe were looked after by Isobel who was very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable.nBeing lunch time I would say it was quite busy and mainly, if not all, adult clientele.nWe opted for a couple of starter dishes, a crispy squid with roasted garlic mayonnaise and charred lemon and the other being creamy garlic mushrooms which were grilled and on a toasted sourdough bread covered with the creamy sauce.nThe main dishes were a grilled Seabass with garden vegetables and a Chef’s Choice grill roasted lamb rump.nEvery dish was cooked to perfection and tasted absolutely divine.nFinished off with delicious desserts with locally sourced ice cream and a coffee.nIn a nutshell it is a faultless wonderful pub, with its cosy atmosphere along with great service and mouthwatering food, which the chefs no doubt take great pride in taste and presentation, all at an extremely reasonable price.nHighly recommend a visit.
11 of us - 8 adults 3 childreen for my daughters 40th Birthday. Amy who looked after us was a super star. Went out of her way to make sure we were all happy all night. Lovely lady with the best customer service we have ever had. Fantastic Amy made us feel at home. Food was very good only a couple of niggles which Amy sorted promptly.Decor inside very nice great pub and staff. Can't wait to return 5 star. Many thanks Diana
It was our 1st time visiting for a birthday celebration. All the staff were friendly & welcoming the food was yummy.nThe only negative & it is a big one. No air con ment it was boiling inside & extremely uncomfortable for people visiting & for the staff. We feel the chef should be thanked for working in a hot kitchen in those conditions.
A lovely evening with my family. We unfortunately did not pre book but Lisa managed to find a table for us for 5 on a busy Saturday night. The service was excellent from Molly and the meal was served promptly. The staff were all very friendly and again Lisa came and made sure we’re all ok. A really fantastic evening I will definitely be returning. Thanks Again to all and the Chef the meals were excellent.
