Just made my first visit must say was impressed will most definitely be making a return visit
I initially found The Musical Box Record Shop via Discogs, while looking to find my nearest independent store to attend for RSD 2022. Since then, I have spent a small fortune there, and they never cease to be supportive and professional. I missed this years 23 RSD due to laziness and watching the queue from TMBRS' own Facebook page was heartwarming and I regretted not being there myself. However, all was not lost, I contacted them on Facebook and they held back my request after RSD was finished, and when I collected it, I bought a few more records while there. Now I have to hide the new purchases so my partner doesn't see them, but without Tony and his amazing team, I wouldn't have two excellent RSD records, and a Thunder album from Tony's own personal collection. So I know it's been well cared for. Keep up the excellent work guys, and I look forward to many years of purchasing more records from you!
Dropped in today RSD day on my way to the footie. What a place! Really friendly, relaxed and helpful. They only have about 10% of the stock on display - just ask!

The Musical Box is situated on West Derby Road Tuebrook. It has been established since 1956 and is family run. There are records from all categories of music and you can buy a t-shirt with the name on as a souvenir of your visit.
Gloriously grumpy owner with tucked away treasures that he'll only sell if he likes the cut of your jib. Be nice and you might get the good stuff.
Excellent. Tony knows his stuff. If you need some random obscure record or something new then the Musical Box probably has it or can get it for ya.
Quaint. Not as big as expected, very old , musty, dusty, interesting. Didnt stock what Id hoped for, was a long 400 miles not to find my disc . Check before you go.
Tony and his mother at the shop worth a visit...you can have a good and funny chat with them and sometimes you can find what you are looking for....the shop and the people in there are part of Liverpool history.
