Fantastic position just off junction 48 of the A1. A good big superstore. With all amenities. Stopped today while heading home to the Midlands. Shopping easy. Not very busy. Went for breakfast at cafe. Oh dear. Seemed to be 1 staff member ( who I felt very sorry for ) doing all the jobs. Serving cooking. delivering. Many unhappy customers. Took half an hour to receive our order. A letter to head office will be forthcoming. Me thinks.

Supermarket j used to be have good loyalty scheme with a points card now it's as good to shop elsewhere.

Store good, but staff somewhat clueless. I had an accident in their car park (a car reversed into mine) and staff 'accidentally deleted' the cctv footage. If there is an incident in the car park ask a member of staff to check the cctv (as I did) but also ask them to BURN IT TO A DISK (this is their protocol but was not followed in my case, although I was only made aware a month after the incident, see below). And if you exchange details with third party, and noone's injured, YOU can request the cctv footage via a Head Office CCTV request form (costs £10). They sent me on a wild goose chase saying only insurers can be sent the footage, then the police, then I had to request it (the right answer I came to figure)... I'm really disappointed that after following staff guidance for a month, being passed to pillar and post, they 'accidentally deleted' the footage and forgot to follow protocol of burning it, bearing in mind I stayed in contact with them updating them on my claim to access the footage every week. Needless to say we don't shop there anymore, we go to the new Aldi in Ripon. Apologies to recount the long ordeal but thought it would be useful should anyone else find themselves in a similar situation.

Prices fiercely competitive...bravo. Service and standards of the fare in Morrison's Cafe pretty dire. Service reasonably prompt. However served by disinterested dolts in their 20s. With expressions saying when does my shift end? Consequently food dry looking. One wrong order. Some scruffy unwiped tables.

a good supermarket but would be even better if they permitted you to fill safefill cylinders with LPG at the petrol station
