Seemed a nice place at first, reviews from other people were good but the service I received wasn't very good. I did a general check of a vehicle I was going to purchase and found various things that the assuming manager didn't know of and had no idea how they had happened. When pointing out the issues in the photos, with the wheel issue, I got no response but with the wing mirror issue, the manager said "you're being thorough" which I was quite surprised at considering it was quite an obvious issue which took me all of about 5 minutes to see, but somehow this guy didn't know about it. Not the best impression and definitely not what I was expecting considering the reviews from other people which were mostly/nearly all good.
We had an excellent visit to this car showroom. Mark the salesman who dealt with our purchase was spot on, he was not "pushy" in any way and for the first time in 50 years of buying cars we left feeling good about a fair deal struck. Already considering buying a second vehicle.
Honest and straightforward … a rare gem in this high pressure selling industry I picked up my new used car from here yesterday and what a breath of fresh air this dealership really is, impressive straightforward honest customer service, no pressure selling, no expensive add ons, just a totally uncomplicated process from start to finish. I would not hesitate to recommend dealing with Matthew and Mark at the dealership to my family and friends and when the times comes to change my car I will definitely be returning to deal with them again. Simply excellent!!

Excellent service! My car broke down in the motorway and we had to be recovered to Charltons. They were able to fix it promptly and the car was ready to pick up in 3 hours.
Excellent service from Mathew, a real pleasure to do business with. Straight forward and efficient, just how it should be, would recommend unreservedly.
Booking in was easy as this was done over the phone. The receptionist was very pleasant and knew who I was. The owner of the garage was friendly and spent a few minutes with me after the service. I could have had a car but opted to spend time in town and the car was ready and waiting for me on my return. Not certain any improvements could have been made.
I bought a Volvo XC60 for £15,495 on 4/3/22 with 68933 miles on the clock. Due to a change in personal requirements I tried to sell it back to Charltons in early June 2 months later with 70,000 miles and in the same condition. It took a week of calls to get an appointment arranged, during the initial sale they were much more communicative. Instead of being honest and telling me they didn't want the car back, they messed me around and had me drive 1.5 hours to their office, where they finally offered me £11,000. That's a £4,495 loss in value during 2 months accordingly to Charltons. I'm left with a feeling that the dealer doesn't price the vehicles honestly, and so I can't recommend them. This is a customer who has bought cars previously from the dealer, so loyalty clearly counts for less than nothing there.
Bought my first car from the wonderful gentlemen of Charltons of Boroughbridge in August last year, they were kind, friendly and responsive to my questions and fair when getting down to business of me purchasing 'Horatio' as I've named my little beauty. My car whizzed through the first service and I have no doubt his first MOT with me, I couldn't be happier as it's a great first car.. I would highly recommend coming here to purchase a car. Location is easy to get to but you may miss it as it's a fast road leading to it, parking is available around the area. Showroom is clean and welcoming without being over clinical, seats comfy and plenty to have a nosy at whilst your there - they have a showroom round the back - just ask to go have a look! Don't bother with the massive car dealers as its a waste of time, energy, money and you might buy a death trap. Just do your research :-
