Excellent place to stay. People who run it are very welcoming. The room was amazing and so comfy. We will definitely be back.

David and Jane deserve high praise for what they are doing at Moresby Hall. The building is lovely and interesting and the decor fitting for a house of historical significance. The rooms and the en suite bath rooms are spacious and comfortable. The photos on the website are representative--no slight of hand there. Breakfast was bountiful and delicious. Dinner was even better. I didn't expect such sophisticated cuisine, and I tip my hat to the chef. David, Jane and staff went above the call of duty. Whitehaven and Moresby Hall deserve more attention from all the Lake District visitors. Thank you, David and Jane, for a lovely stay.

Lovely cosy rooms in a big old building full of history. The breakfast is great and the owners are very kind and helpful, they recommended to us a local pub where we each had a really nice meal.

Poor quality. The room for £100 a night was based in the loft and had only roof windows, permanently locked. No fresh air at all, had to sleep with an open door. No sound insulation - you can hear all your neighbours. Breakfast is very poor, served by waiters, not buffet style. You have to tell them your breakfast time in advance. No bar there, but they serve alcohol in reception room. One bottle of ale is £4 and it was warm, not from the fridge. Check-in is 4pm and out 11am.
