We stayed with a coach trip. The 2 ladies from reception were lovely. Our room was good on the first floor & we had a lovely view of the woods & saw bunnies twice a day!! It's surroundings are woods & fields of sheep very soothing & calming. The food was good & plentiful. We had both breakfast & dinner. The front of house staff was lovely nothing was too much for them. My husband & I wanted to eat outside since it was the heatwave & they bought cutlery & our food & drink outside for us. It's a lovely hotel. A word of warning the showers are very powerful &can't be reduced so you will need a shower cap.
Stayed for two nights. Slight disappointment on hearing the bar would be shut due to a private function but the restaurant staff ensured no one got too thirsty. Had a BBQ on the first night which was lovely. Rooms were clean, food was plentiful. Any slight niggles taken care of by the reception staff. They coped well with our 18 dog owning clients! Overall an excellent base for our weekend’s activities.
Thank you Summergrove Halls for a beautiful Easter Sunday lunch. Staff, table decorations and food were excellent. Couldnt fault anything in their new dinning room. We will be back without a doubt.
We booked our first big event and the staff were great at helping me work out how the weekend should run, letting us use the grounds of the hotel, and generally being very accommodating. We had the bbq huts on Friday night, these were amazing and the food was very good. The staff were very helpful throughout the stay, and rooms were clean. The grounds are beautiful here and it is a very dog friendly place. Accommodating 24 people plus about that many dogs was some feat! Steph was especially helpful before hand with designing a better spreadsheet for us to see what was going on with the bookings and we got a great deal. Thank you very much and we hope to see you again soon.
Stayed here for 2 nights with my partner. Probably the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Had nicer hostels in south east Asia. 1 star purely because the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, however the hotel itself should be knocked down and rebuilt to be of any kind of decent standard. Room felt very unclean - and not because I doubt they’re cleaning them but because it’s basically falling apart. The doors are not sound proof AT ALL - which is a standard at a hotel - meaning we were kept up at night and woke up early in the morning. This aswell as there being no curtains or black out blinds so light shining in too. Everything looks like it’s been done with the lowest of cost. Building is like a school/college and like a maze to navigate. I barely leave reviews but this was atrocious, please do better.
On check in the hotel reception staff was very friendly, due to an error on their part check in wasn't as quick as I would of liked, but it was rectified and I went on my way. The room was clean, a little dated but comfortable for a couple of nights. The first night we had BBQ which the food was nice and the huts add a lovely touch. Great grounds to walk the dog and it was nice coming back on the Saturday to the room tidied, the chambermaid did a good job. The only big let down is a large majority of the restaurant staff quite clearly can not be bothered, the young lad working really couldn't be bothered, we asked for a sweet wine his reply said "we don't do one" didn't offer something else. They have a good selection of gins yet no garnishes. We sat down for a meal on the Saturday night and service was terribly slow, asked for a rare steak and it came well done. My aunts rhubarb and apple crumble was that hard, if we had dropped it on our foot we would of had broken bones! Saturday night was very noisy, the bbq huts had been hired out and my room was above them, there was screaming and shouting going on until 11.30. Sunday we had our pre paid booked meal, we placed our order and the starters took forever to come out, finally after half an hour of us finishing our starters the plates was took away, the main eventually came, I asked for a trio of meats but it was missing the beef, the other meat was dry, mash was stodgy, veg was cold, Yorkshire puds over done, 2 on our table was still waiting, when enquired they said they had given them to the wrong table! All the plates on the table that had roast dinner was barely touched. Again another ridiculously long wait for the plates to go, whilst the 4 bar girls was just stood behind the bar gossiping. We started taking bets on what time the desserts would come out, it was 45 minutes after the main! We went and asked where was the food to be told "we are putting takeaway orders first!" Very disappointing, based on both days dining I can honestly say the restaurant and kitchen is in dire need of some leadership
Had a great stay at Summergrove Hall at a recent dog course held there. Staff were really accommodating and helpful, rooms comfortable and clean with excellent showers. Good value. Very dog friendly.Rooms: 5/5
Lovely hotel, friendly staff. Homemade food which was absolutely delicious. Rooms clean and tidy, only thing i did'nt like there was no storage in the shower for shampoo/con or showergel other than on the floor. People who struggle to pick things up wouldnt manage to bend down for shower essentials. Also the tv in our room did'nt have any channels apart from the odd one, but we managed with what we had.. Thank you to all the staff at summergrove halls who treated us kindly and provided a fantastic service for our short stay
The staff were so helpful food and service great. Lovely dining room beautiful table decorations the rooms are basic very but very modern great powerful shower nice gardens I was on a coach trip but will definitely be back Five star Rooms: 5/5
Ordered an Afternoon Tea and was disappointed with it. Last year's was much better. The scone already had cream and jam on it, which is not normal, as you get these items seperate to put on yourself. The scone was soggy and the cream was off. I think putting all the food in one box is a silly idea, or at least wrap items separately. Last time I'm ordering from them.
