My relative, who is not au fait with some technology, asked me to write this review for her on her behalf. She and a friend, arrived on spec on Monday 13th November 2017. Upon arrival the proprietor was very welcoming and couldn't do enough for them, The price of the room was very reasonable and the decor of the room was very clean and of good quality like a posh hotel.. She said breakfast was a treat. The smoked salmon and scrambled egg was very tasty. The Guest House was located close to the beach and shops. There was also good parking at the guest house. They had intended to move on after a night but decided to stay a few days as the place was so good.Thank you Montrose for treating my relative and her friend so well.

One of the most lovely & charming B&B's. The owners make it a once in a lifetime experience with their incredible hospitality, amazing breakfast and the best travel advice and conversation. It's my second time here and it won't be my last. The Montrose is a couple blocks from the ocean, town and steam train. It is also close to many beautiful hiking trails that end in towns that are nestled in the hills. One hike reminds me of the beautiful Big Sur coast of California. A really magical experience and certainly one of the best kept secrets.

Great place to stay, very clean, very friendly family run B&B. Very quiet for a good night's sleep yet just around the corner from the main street. The owners were helpful and gave us great tips to make the most of our time in Exmoor. Thank you!

Outstanding guesthouse.Great location, close to all attractions, excellent spotlessly clean rooms and good choice of well cooked breakfasts. For a relaxing holiday with friendly proprietors this is an ideal choice.
