Having visited this lovely and scenic course during the week, I can honestly say that it was well worth the very reasonable green fee. It is not a long course but it has it's own little intricacies and quirks and the greens are a real test of putting ability.nThe fairways are generous but take them for granted and you will find problems, there are undulations and dips and slopes everywhere and thinking about shot placement is probably worth while.nStaff and members were friendly and helpful and the food in the bar post round although limited in choice was tasty and well priced. The scenery is something else though - really good views all round - adds a little extra to the golf.nWell worth a visit and I would highly recommend.
Not played this course for a long long time...forgot how hard a walk it really is.nFront 9 not for the faint hearted and then your hoping for an easier walk on back 9..it is slightly less hilly but still a good old trek.nI thought the course was in pretty good condition.Greens were good but very slow so attack those pins.Whilst it was dry sunny day there was very little run on the fairways tee shots pulled up quickly even on the sloping fairways.nToday was a warm bright sunny day as you can see from pictures.nMonmouth GC is not a hard course speaking as a golfer however it is quite a hard uphill walk on a lot of holes.nEat your weetabix before playing it...you will need a large calorie intake.nThe views are spectacular it has to be said especially when stood on 7th green.
Never played there before, was £23 for 18 holes and the course is delightful. Very hilly so be prepared but some of the holes are absolutely picturesque. Definitely will return!
Super course... end of July '23, very friendly members from young to old. Food was excellent for Seniors' match.
Played as a visitor. Friendly staff on phone for booking and in person. Challenging and interesting course - the gradients make you work for it! As a visitor more signage around the course is needed, the direction to some tee boxes isn’t clear.
