Story

Mint and Mustard family of restaurants is one of the UK's most critically acclaimed Indian restaurants. Already recognised as one of Cardiff's finest dining experiences, we have now brought our award-winning style to Taunton, Penarth and Chepstow.

Mint and Mustard’s cuisine is inspired by the Keralan philosophy of fresh, light and healthy food created with passion and care for the ingredients we use. We have always had a “slow food” approach – cooking each dish fresh every time and using only pure, natural colours and flavours.

Mint and Mustard food is beautifully presented and we allow our chefs to bring their own ingenuity to our menus.

Our heart is in Kerala, while we innovate and redefine the Indian dining experience in Britain.

Heard a great deal about Mint and Mustard and so expectations were high, but sadly disappointed. We ordered take-away on a Friday and can only assume they were busy. The food tasted fresh enough, but was swimming in liquid- it was like a creamy curry soup, with very little body, and tiny fragments of veg. The taste was good though. I just got the impression they were running low in ingredients and too busy to prepare to their usual standard. As a result not the best meal for the price they charged.

Visited 16/3/18, well absolutely wonderful food. Had tasting menu 2 with matched wine. Absolutely outstanding. X

Avoid like the plague!! when they delivered food to my daughter BY MISTAKE, she accepted thinking it was for her flatmates. They sent three guys round an hour later to threaten her and even though she apologised they charged her £40 for the food! It wont let me give no stars.

Given one star because I can't give zero. A delivery turned up at my door and I took it in because they stated my address and I figured that, living in a student house with four others, one of my flatmates had ordered in. The delivery guy seemed to be in a rush so I took the food and he rushed away. A few minutes later, having spoken to the flat, I discover the food isn't for us. We waited half an hour for him to realise his mistake and return for the food, but since the condensation in the bag had ruined the restaurant's label, I couldn't find out who had brought it to tell them it wasn't ours. An hour ticks by and no one has showed up, and the food is cold. We figured that the mistake had been forgotten so we tried the food and found it to be awful. We threw the food away, not knowing what else to do with it. Another 15 minutes later, my door is practically hammered in. They pound non-stop against it until I answer, and the delivery guy is back, with chef in tow. Both are bigger than me and furious, talking fast and very aggressively. They were standing right up against my doorframe, in my space, and I felt physically threatened, They knew that I was a young girl on my own when I answered the first time, and had brought the chef (a man significantly bigger than myself) to my door, where they shouted at me for having taken the food. I tried to explain that I had assumed it was for a flatmate, which they refused to accept. They demanded the food back, and I apologised, saying that in the hour and 15 minutes it was sitting in my kitchen, it went cold and was therefore thrown away. They then got angrier, and because I felt threatened, I offered to pay for the food I hadn't asked for or eaten. I was then charged FORTY POUNDS for one portion of rice, two lumpy chicken curries and a bag of broken poppadums. DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT. THE STAFF ARE AGGRESSIVE AND RUDE, THE FOOD IS POOR AND OVERPRICED, AND THEY ARE NOT ABOVE SCARING A TEENAGE GIRL ON HER OWN TO AMEND THEIR MISTAKES.
