Lovely visit! I came a few years ago but we were passing through and I really visited another look. Absolutely beautiful and so rich in history. We brought our 7 month old son in his pushchair and were easily able to access all areas.
A seriously stunning minster in the cutest little town. We stumbled in while the Christmas tree festival was taking place. The volunteers at the door were so inviting and friendly. We were even given an impromptu tour of the church. The stain glass windows are absolutely magical and the afternoon glow is transcendental. The little gift shop has so much to see and purchase.
What an amazing building, both inside and out. There's no admission charge but if you want to take photos: it'll cost £3.00 which, believe me, you will want to do . We didn't know but Beverley Minister is often used in Television and Films as it has the same 2 West Towers at the front of the Minster as Westminster Abbey . This design was also used by Nicholas Hawksmoor 1661 -1736 - Surveyor to Sir Christopher Wren ! to replicate these at Westminster Abbey The Crown is one series that was filmed here.
My partner and I loved the minster. We talked to one of the volunteers for over 20 minutes, explaining the features and about the different building phases, the woky wall and how it was corrected. You can even do a roof tour.
Quick visit to this minister, one of three in Yorkshire. Took the guided tour of the roof, very interesting along with the stained glass windows. The west exterior wall with twin towers is often used in films to replicate Westminster Abbey.
Beverley Mknsrer is wonderful! I go there for quiet time, and to relax. Recently went to pay respect to the Queen, and everyone is so kind and lovely. Perfect for photos, of the architecture
A beautiful building with a fantastic welcome when I popped in briefly on Sunday afternoon. Great to see the military colours on display and the fallen remembered. Will definitely go back for a longer look around. Good to see the house of God open for business.
Spent a good hour in the Minster at Beverly, beautiful inside and out, while there singing rehearsals were going on, made the visit that much more special, lovely church shop, and staff very friendly and helpful! Recommend to anyone, worth the visit!
Beverley Minster is a beautiful, ancient ecclesiastical building in the East Riding of Yorkshire. It has a unique history and was especially noted throughout Europe for being a place sanctuary. Particularly striking are the numerous stone carvings of minstrels. Very much well worth a visit.
Absolutely breath-taking example of a master piece from history, it's clean and very spacious and welcoming, also some delightful artwork from the school boys of the 1500/1600/1700 1800 s on the side of the engraved wooden seating which is interesting
