Good service and the quality of the food was nice. The service was a bit slow. The atmosphere and the table to large enough for a group of 10 people which was nice. The steak was good as many people ordered it. The seating is comfortable. The bar also has a nice choice of drinks. It right around a lot if bars which is nice if you want to grab a bite before or after drinks
Too busy, slow service. My table of 4 got sent to two separate tables for 30 minutes before we realised we had all arrived. Steak good but had to be sent back to the kitchen as medium rare was served rare. Good bottle of medicines.
I should have known when the manager didn't seem bothered to reserve a table for us. Friday night, 8pm - we wanted a drink first before food. The place looked busy so we thought it best to ask. I put it down to a gruff manner and thought nothing of it. Cane back 45 minutes later: the place was empty. City of London out of hours I guess? The manager must have known. Anyway, we settle down: they don't have the starter we want from the menu. Fine, we order something else, which turned out ok. They don't have the wine we want from the wine list. We order another 'equivalent' wine which we're promised will be the same price. The wine as awful, and I mean really bad: young, sharp, bad on its own, bad with the food. Main course was fine big steak. They didn't have the dessert we wanted from the menu. At this point we just cut our losses and asked for the bill. Yup, the wine was more than we'd been promised - had to ask for that to be changed, which they did without trouble, but also without grace. 12.5% service charge added to the bill, which we opted out of tipped the waiter in cash instead, and less because he wasn't that great. Total bill for 2 people: still £90. Average food, horrible wine, no vibe, really disappointing evening. I'd avoid. Plenty of other better places in the same central area, and cheaper.
Fantastic food! I chose the rib eye and it was a joy to consume. I don't generally eat steak in London because it doesn't taste as good as those in other parts of the world. Having said that, my steak tasted great here and I've already recommended to a friend. I also went for a juice and a tea, both ridiculously simple things that most places seem to get wrong, Mingo did not. It's within close proximity to a whole bunch of tube stations and the prices are fair for what you're getting for. The staff were brilliant and friendly and we felt very comfortable with the place. Definitely returning
Me and my partner shared a 4 steak sharing plate and it was lovely, the staff were attentive without hovering, the food was just as good as you'd expect it to be. All in all I'd definitely recommend a lunch or dinner sometime if you have the time.
What a disappointment, i brought 3 guests here - Arrived and was sat down - Lady sat us down and walked off - 5-10 mins later came back and asked us if we wanted a drink she was nice enough, just not very attentive. Steak was ok - had better, 2 of the people l had burgers, that were over down and very dry - had to keep looking for waitress to order drinks, the place was empty too - anyway we complained that the burger was over down and that was it - when i went to pay i asked the guy at the desk to remove the service charge , i left £10 on explained why and he never blinked an eye - i then asked who the manager was and he said.. it was him !! i
Terrible! I would have given only 1 star but thought to be fair I would give 2 stars just because the waiter service was OK. Now the main negative is this restaurant has got to be way down on the rankings for value for money, we ordered the 'MINGO-LOSCUATROCORTES' which was a steak sharing board for minimum of 2 people, this contained 4 cuts of meat, we had a total of 3 people eating, we obviously asked to make the sharing board for 3 people, when the food came out they added only 1 more piece of steak and that was it. It also only came with 1 small pot of salad and 1 small pot of fries to share between 3. My friend who doesn't normally complain said straight away, is this a joke, the portions are tiny! They gave us another pot of fries only because the waiter overheard us moan. By the end of the meal we were asked how was it, we were honest on saying the portions for 3 people was not adequate, we asked for medium rare and the steaks came out medium to well done, the meat lacked flavor, it wasn't seasoned very well if at all, plus did not have the charred smokey taste that you would expect from a good steak, it was very bland! The waiter cheekily said to us 'well it can't be that bad, you ate it all' ..my response was 'well it wasn't hard, there wasn't much there to eat in the first place plus in the end we would still have to pay the bill in full whether we liked it or not!'. Sorry....but I cannot recommend this restaurant to anybody, your better off spending that little bit extra at a Goodman's, Mash, Blacklock etc.
Really disappointing food. Ordered pork belly and it was one of the worst pork bellies I'd ever tried. It was like eating rubber. It being so darn expensive for the terrible food quality pinched even more. I tried a bit of the steak that my friend had ordered, and that was very very average as well. The first and the last time I visited this place.
