When we decided we wanted a new, bigger kitchen, we visited several kitchen designers and were told to sort out an extension before they could begin to design the kitchen. This sounded daunting to us - we didn't really know where to start! Fortunately, Milligan and Jessop had a much better suggestion - they would manage the whole project, right through from architect and building regulations, to building, plumbing, plastering etc, and finally they'd fit a beautiful, high quality kitchen. Before we even committed to buy, we spent hours with Neil Milligan, as he went through several versions of his design, trying to perfect both the building project to maximise the space available, and then the kitchen to put in the new room. We told him our budget for the project, and he designed a fantastic extension and kitchen within that budget. When the project began, all the tradesmen were hard working and extremely knowledgeable. They kept disruption to an absolute minimum throughout, and they finished on time and on budget. Neil and his fantastic team worked incredibly hard in some pretty unpleasant winter conditions to make sure we were ready for Christmas. They certainly went above and beyond what we’d expected. The whole process was a pleasure, rather than the chore we'd feared it might be when we spoke to the other kitchen companies. Overall, we've now got a "wow factor" kitchen and we've been absolutely delighted with all aspects of the product and service provided by Neil and all his staff at Milligan and Jessop. I love my new kitchen. We’d had a few quotes from other kitchen places while we were looking and we thought we knew what we were after. We were referred to Milligan and Jessop by another friend who had a great experience with them and we haven’t thought twice since! Marc the designer helped reorganise our kitchen design to suit our needs more specifically and I honestly can’t thank him enough for the changes, by listening to what we wanted to achieve and making the design fit the remit we provided. He really made us feel like he was helping create our home, not going through the motions or worse, making us feel like it was very much our privilege to be having our kitchen designed by a “professional”. Their installation team were equally brilliant during the whole process, a daily phone call keeping me informed throughout the fit and when a damaged door arrived, they fitted it for the meantime and good to their word the replacement door and the fitter arrived on time and completed my beautiful kitchen. The quality of our kitchen is amazing, wanting all the mod cons. I now walk into the hub of my home and feel like I’ve walked into a kitchen showroom. This note is to say how grateful I am to have selected your company to fit my new kitchen. From the moment I entered the showroom in Huddersfield and were greeted by the receptionist Emily, I felt that this was where I could get what I needed in my house. The showroom is fantastic. Well setup, the cabinets, draw systems plus the appliances are on show in the best possible light for the clients to view. I did see some other kitchen showrooms but I felt a little intimidated by their attitude or lack of knowledge as to what I the Customer wanted in the way of a new kitchen very uninspiring. Neil was very interested in what I had to say, only adding ideas or suggestions after listening to my thoughts. I made an appointment for him to come to our home to inspect and measure the area to be renovated. When I saw his first design and obtained a quote plus timeline to carry out the works. I felt that Milligan and Jessop was the right choice for me. Ipaid a few visits to the showroom to choose the new appliances, colours and type of finishes for the cabinets and worktops, each time greeted with a warm welcome by your staff. To my mind, the first impression is so important to any successful business. You have wonderful staff at the front desk. Emily is a great asset. A friend of mine put me on to you after she had her kitchen fitted. I am glad I checked other companies as well so I could make comparisons and gain some knowledge before seeing what Milligan and Jessop could come up with. The process of installing a new kitchen is a daunting task and your tradespeople did a great job. The workmanship is first class. From the initial taking out of old cabinets, replastering, electrical works, plumbing, to the fitting of the new cabinets by Scott, work tops and the new appliances is not a task to be carried out byjust anyone off the street. It has to be done in a co-ordinated fashion. It was. There were a few small hick ups but nothing that could not be fixed by a phone call to you. To put it mildly, we are very happy with the finished kitchen. Our friends have commented how nice it looks, modern, clean, neat, tidy and spacious. Summing up, I have no problem at all in recommending Milligan and Jessop to anyone who is interested in a new kitchen. Regards and Best Wishes.

We decided to have an open plan living area, so had a wall knocked down and extension added to the rear of our property. We visited many kitchen showrooms, but the were all designing the same layout as the existing kitchen. From the initial meeting with Neil at Milligan and Jessop we were extremely impressed. Neil took our ideas and gave us an amazing design. He had a very honest approach to things he thought would and wouldn't work for us and our lifestyle. He was a pleasure to deal with. Everyone we dealt with at Milligan and Jessop were extremely professional, and we were impressed with the quality of Matt's workmanship. We cannot praise this company enough. From the moment we walked into their showroom in Huddersfield we felt we were dealing with a professional company. Unlike other kitchen retailers, Alan came to our home to talk about our needs as a family for the kitchen. He also asked us our budget some he knew what he was working with and actually came in quite a bit under!!! He went away and then invited us back to the showroom to show us his design which totally blew me away!!!! The fitters we friendly and professional. We had a problem with the worktop after it had been fitted and they replaced it straight away, no quibble. During the fitting, Neil came out on numerous occasions to make sure the project was on track and that we were happy. We cannot thank them enough for our transformed kitchen.

Milligan and Jessop profess to offer a managed 'one stop' solution to having a new kitchen fitted, but the reality of dealing with them is very different from the impression you leave their showroom with. It took them a month to plaster, re-wire and install our kitchen not including flooring, joinery or decorating, a month replete with missed appointments, trades turning up unannounced when no-one was in and problems arising from a general lack of co-ordination. Some of the tradespeople they use are very good, some of them are not. Here are a few examples but by no means an exhaustive list of the issues we had. We didn't want them to fit our units onto wet plaster they claimed this was OK, but I have consulted several professionals since and have found no-one who shares this opinion, so their 'installation manager' brought round a propane space heater – clearly marked 'Not for use in enclosed spaces' – to force dry it. When I met with their MD subsequently he claimed this was a perfectly reasonable thing to do. Again, I have been able to find no-one else in the plastering trade who shares this opinion. The majority of the problems we had stemmed from their installation manager's inability to communicate information or properly co-ordinate the activities of his staff. We had a minor leak from the new dishwasher that was left for a week despite his being informed of it. I waited in twice for someone to attend and fix this, but on both occasions no-one turned up. They 'lost' our fridge-freezer for just over a week, and when they did make an appointment to deliver it no-one came. I rang the installation manager and got his voicemail as was usually the case, and on ringing the office number I was told that delivery had not been possible as their van had failed it's MOT. During the course of the work they removed a redundant waste pipe which exited through the kitchen wall and left without doing anything about the resulting 3"x2" hole. The kitchen, made by a company in Ireland, is of very good quality as you would expect such an expensive kitchen to be. However the process of working with Milligan and Jessop was so unnecessarily protracted, inconvenient and stressful that we would not consider using them again, nor would we recommend them to anyone else.

Right from first visiting the showroom to completion I had no complaints. I had very clear ideas of what I didn't want but what I did want was more hazy, Neil helped me to firm up my ideas, so now I have the kitchen of my dreams, which even gets kept clean and tidy totally out of character. After we agreed a start date and the work had begun, I even felt confident enough to leave the country for a week or so to let them get on with it in peace. I was really pleased that the quality of the workmanship matched the quality of the products and as a result I now have a stunning kitchen which stands out from the crowd.

We chose Milligan and Jessop after a lengthy search for an individual kitchen company in the area, that would offer us something different with a bespoke twist. We changed our minds about the layout numerous times and would like to thank them for being patient with us. Although there were a few hiccups along the way, these were sorted to our satisfaction. What we have now is a beautiful bespoke kitchen we feel proud of to have friends over to see.

The quality of the units and the ability of the fitters is extremely high.
