We have just come back from a lovely woodland lodge holiday. If your thinking of booking this site you must read the updated information on the site. It apparently has changed over the last few years into a lodge only site , facilities are reduced, you won't arrive at a singing and dancing site, it's a really quite site, The lodge was perfect for what we wanted, it was spotlessly clean including the hot tub which was checked daily, there was even a washing machine which we wasnt expecting from the itinerary, we had a lovely welcome basket on arrival which was a lovely touch, the staff on site where very pleasant and helpful, unfortunately we only went into Westbourne Minster on the last day it has a lovely selection of cafes pubs and shops it's worth a visit. Merley court was the perfect site for us and we will definitely be back.
We had a lovely stay, it was very quiet on site due to the time of year but this suited us down to the ground. The lodge was lovely and a nice touch, having milk, butter, tea, and sugar. There was even a bbq supplied. The beds were really comfortable, and the hot tub was lovely. The woodland walk was fantastic for the dog. We will definitely book again.
just arrived. been here a few times before. probably won't be back, as just found out the shop has closed down. the Bar is closed, and the pool is only open one hour a day. apart from Monday and Friday when its closed the opening times are a bit confusing... will look elsewhere in future
Couldn't be happier. The lodge has all the amenities that you could want, including a lovely little welcome basket with breakfast cereals, oven baguette, tea. Milk , orange juice and butter in the fridge. A lovely place to spend time with your family. Great little forest walk behind the cabins to walk the dog aswell! And loads of beaches and green walks.
A really nice site. Worth a visit. Reasonably priced. This is a lovely site. Walking distance 25 minutes into Wimborne and a 15 minute drive into Poole. Beaches are 20 minutes away. Most of the pitches are a decent size and would take a large tent or van. Two toilet and shower blocks. One slightly better than the other but both very acceptable. A children's play area. An outdoor pool. The shop on site is well stocked and there is a bonus of a bar and restaurant onsite. We have stayed at this site twice and will more than likely go back again.
Nice site lovely staff when we arrived. Grass short pitches large. Toilets clean showers hot not much going on local so if your in a van you will need to bring cycles or other transport. Did not try the pool but looked nice reasonable shop on site and prices for pitch £32 for 2 nights Inc electric in early July. However I have seen travellers on the site but there was no problems during our stay
The good: well organised tidy site with a good shop and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The outdoor pool was great and fish and chip van that visits the site did some reasonable food. The bad: showers were small and the hot water was hit and miss. 2 shower blocks for the whole site didn't seem enough. No open space and kids play facilities are basic
Nice setting, lodges are a good distance apart. We arrived to a loaf of bread, milk, butter and cereals which we haven't had at other sites although the first time we've not had soap for washing hands. We booked a 6 person cabin and only had towels for two. We had to request more towels. The floor mat for the balcony part was soaked through from previous visitors so we had to hang this up to dry. Pictures lead us to believe the lodge was bigger than we found. We've stayed at other sites with hoseasons that were much larger. For 3 bedrooms. The most disappointing thing was the listing said we could use their sister sites to use an indoor pool, bar, entertainment etc, however they dont tell you that one site is a 20 minute drive away and the other is nearly an hour drive away. We also were upgraded to VIP wifi due to an access point being put on a chair which was because of signal problems. Even with upgraded wifi, we had speeds of between 1 and 2 mbps up and down which is very slow.
Quiet and pleasant. Nice clean shower block and toilet facilities. Good dry pitch and easy within reach of the electric points at 16A. Friendly reception staff,a good helpful warden and a small but friendly/cheap caravan shop around the back near a dog grooming parlour!!!! An outside pool which is closed until may. But you can use the sister site 7 mile down the road with a heated indoor pool/jacuzzi/gym and a lot of stuff for the kids to do...all free with a pass from reception! Again, nice site with no complaints except the usual......wifi is rubbish. No tv point on my electric stand but thats not too much of a hassle tbh. Would return.
A great high quality experience - slightly pricier than other touring sites I've used but the overall high quality justifies the price. We arrived late and only stayed the night which is a shame as it looks like there is a lot to do on site. The shop shuts a bit oddly early but the lounge and bar stay open late for out of hours arrivals. Very friendly barman really made our visit, thanks mate! Apparently they have an onsite bakery and you can order fresh bread and pastries for the next morning which is a fantastic touch. Wifi, good toilet and shower facilities, waste disposal and drinking water available. As another reviewer noted, kind of difficult to exit the site onto the busy roundabout, you may have to be a bit bullish with the local traffic. Well situated for visiting Bournemouth seafront. Would use again!
