Amazing site. great value, great location, fantastic host, easy communication, impossible to improve on it. Our group took 4 tent pitches, 2 yurts and a hut. Great time had by all, 8 kids absolutely loved it as did all the adults and the dog. Super relaxed long weekend wish I could have stayed longer.Rooms: 5/5
We had a week at Farrs Meadow with friends, kids and dogs. Everyone loved it. This is one of those relaxed campsites with a great and chilled vibe, but with added bonus of having friendly and helpful owner, David, and crew on hand pretty much at all times. The size of the site is great, we were one of the 16 capacity tent pitches. There are also a few yurts and shepherd's huts, all together served by solar showers in horse boxes loved those, compost toilets and a good washing up area. It didn't take long to start feeling closeness to nature. The river is five minutes away, perfect for dipping in and for walking, it seemed like a spot for all sorts of water based fun which we'll come back to next time. Lovely walks all over too and short drives take you to some stunning coastline. David couldn't be more helpful, the personal touch makes this site special. Thank you David!
We had a wonderful time at Farrs Meadow. David and the team were all incredibly kind and helpful. We stayed in one of the little gypsy caravans and the beds were lovely — very comfortable. The scenery is magnificent and we had stunning views from our plot. We went swimming in the nearby river and cooked BBQs on the fire pit in the evening. We’ll definitely be back.
I'm so happy my wife found this place, it's great for adults, kids & dogs. I'd recommend the Shepherds huts to stay in, which add a bit of luxury to the experience, as well as everything you need already supplied there's hot showers, sinks & toilets on site. My son had his 11th birthday here & had a day to remember which included swimming in a wild river, amazing walks, a lovely evening meal in the town centre, finished off with roasted marsh mallows on our very own fire pit. With so much to do & explore, we will definitely be returning, Thank you Dave & Isla see you again soon.
Just got back from a four day holiday here and very much enjoyed it. David is a great host and site is unique and because of the staff a very relaxed place to stay. The river is ok, deep enough In places to have a quick swim about 5 min walk away. The toilets are in horse boxes and so are showers which might not be for everyone but over all because of atmosphere I would definitely go back and and recommend. Long live camp David campsite!
What a gem of a place run by a great guy who works hard to make your experience great. David went out of his way for our stay when cool camping had messed up our booking. The staff are all fantastic, upon arrival they will move all your stuff to the camping field and bring it all back at the end. Yurts are very well stocked with everything you'll need, cutlery, pans, camp stove, firelighters, matches, candles. Site is very dog friendly and the very short walk to the river is blissful. The river is nice and shallow, lots of places for kids of all ages to enjoy the water. Showers were lovely and warm. Washing up area only has cold feed taps. We made some great friends there too. Thanks David and team!
Farr's Meadow was a great place to spend a relaxing weekend with friends. David was an excellent host and made sure to look after us. It's a beautiful area and a great place for anyone new to camping. I would definitely go again and recommend it to others.
Such a lovely camp site, great compostable toilets, great showers and the communal wash area was lovely for chatting to people and getting to know others at the site. Some fantastic weekend friendships were made and great evenings had all round. We don't live far and will absolutely come back again
We camped here back in August last year, I hadn’t been camping since I was a child and was uncertain of what to expect. It turned out to be one of my favourite holidays, admittedly we were very lucky with the weather but the location is so beautiful and had a very special feel to it. I wasn’t familiar with ‘wild camping’, it’s definitely very rustic. Initially I was surprised that the toilet was in a horse box as are the showers. I soon got used to the set up, our fellow campers were all really lovely and much more experienced than ourselves. A great aspect is that cars are not allowed on the site, might not seem a big thing but it really added to the whole experience. Dave and the team were fantastic, couldn’t have helped us enough but not intrusive. Wimborne is a short walk, as is a very chilled traditional pub, cash only and old school opening hours which made for a novel experience. Farrs Meadow is highly recommended from me and we shall definitely be going back.
We loved our long weekend at Farrs Meadow. The yurt was lovely and comfortable and David was very welcoming and helpful. Our two little boys can't wait to go back!Rooms: 5/5
