I take my little boy to the swimming. Facilities dated, but kept clean, and the swimming pool is warm and spacious and clean.
Used the hotel as a venue for a Baby Shower. The setting is lovely next to Golden Acre Park. Room was perfect for our needs and very well set up with lovely table decorations, private entrance and the use of a private bar. We had an afternoon tea and there was more than enough food - all of which was lovely. Thanks to the events manager Joel and all the team on the day - anything we needed they were more than happy to help. At £11.95 PP for everything it was in my opinion great value.
Family party - extremely reasonable prices half the price of the function space at the hotel up the road and prettier! and good food and drink packages! Staff were lovely and accommodating - responded to every little request, especially on the day. Everything we hoped for.
The hotel is set in beautiful surroundings so a perfect venue for my daughter and son-in-laws wedding. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful, giving us confidence that the day would run smoothly. The vegetarian/vegan food was excellent and enjoyed by all the guests. The rooms were clean and comfortable making for a relaxing night after an amazing day. Thank you to all involved.
A really pleasant stay. Very pleased with every aspect from the time of booking to the time of departure. Cosy room with lovely woodland view. Plenty of hot water in the bathroom. The staff were attentive, courteous and helpful at each stage. Particularly impressed by Barry in the restaurant who seemed to enjoy his job and was cheerful, good-humoured and showed real interest. The restaurant itself was of a high standard and had a very good range of meals to choose from. Meals were very well prepared and very well presented. Congratulations to chef and serving staff. The spa facilities were a welcome feature, much appreciated and much used. We enjoyed the spa bath, swimming pool, steam room, sauna and massage and came away feeling pampered and refreshed. A most enjoyable stay. Would be very keen to come again and would certainly recommend it to anyone considering a visit.
Went for a meeting, entry to meeting rooms through a fire exit at the back. After some of us wanted a debrief and summary in the bar. Walked round to reception to be met by a security guard in hi viz. Guess what? Migrant accommodation. Noteworthy details: Full of dinghy travellers.
- Definitely overpriced. - The rooms are old. The carpet was full of disgusting stains. The furniture are old and definitely overused. - Mould in the bathroom, especially in the ventilation outlet. Also, the taps for cold and hot water are still separate and it is 21st century. - The wellness area is horrible and dirty. There is no place to rinse your footwear at the entry. The showers to rise before swimming are dirty and there is barely any water flowing from them so I bet nobody is using them. The tiles around the pool are old and disgusting. Brown staining is everywhere there, especially in the corners! The smell of chlorine is quite strong. It was freezing cold in the changing rooms. Very very poor hygiene! - The furniture in the lobby and dining area are old and dirty. Multiple stains are visible on the chairs in the restaurant. The lobby has no sense of aesthetics at all to make your stay pleasant. - If you don't like full English, there is not much else to eat for breakfast from savoury options. The glasses for the juice were sticking to the trays and all of them were full of water marks. Advantages: - The staff was very friendly. - The gym looked ok. - It was warm in the room.
Attended the wedding of our granddaughter yesterday & can honestly say what an amazing venue, the ceremony itself was so well done , the reception was amazing, fantastic food & service. Could not find fault with anything. The evening buffet was equally brilliant. Well done to the manament & staff , you made our day very special. Thank you so much
The hotel is extremely outdated and filthy. The dinner served is warmed up previously prepared meals and it is gross. Furthermore, there is no water pressure when you take a shower and there is no toilet brush to clean up after yourself when you use a toilet. Moreover, there is no room service or phones in the rooms. However, the staff are enthusiastic and hardworking, breakfast is fresh and tasty except pastry, and the beds were comfy and the sheets were clean and only because of those reasons I listed at the end I gave two-star marks, otherwise it would be zero.
Such a cute little hotel. Super clean in the rooms and the staff are friendly and kind. There is also a swimming pool and gym you can make use of but it tends to be very busy and it's a bit of a Maze to get there from the hotel rooms. The outside looks lovely to sit if it's a nice day and you have some cute cows across the road! Would definitely stay there again.
