Went to a wedding here on 13/9 and thought the place to be of a high standard, ok priced and food and drink quality really good. Rooms were nice and clean. Service at the bar was great. The only downside was the slightly rude young lady at the reception who could do with a lesson on politeness.
My original review was based on poor service experience in their pub & the Sunday lunch all day menu. However tonight’s menu was superb, much more comprehensive, totally delicious with excellent service. I will definitely stay again. Staff lovely, room superb with amazingly comfortable bed. Well deserved of 5 STARS Rooms: Beautifully decorated, clean. Absolutely lovely.
Stayed over the weekend. Room was very spacious and clean. Our room was over the courtyard and very noisy especially as we had the windows open at night as there wasn't any air conditioning. Maybe a sign asking guests/ staff to be considerate of others when they're in the courtyard late at night /early morning especially when people are out in the courtyard that's supposed to be a no smoking area. Staff in the Stables went above and beyond as I have a nut allergy. Restaurant a bit overpriced. Breakfast buffet really good plus a good variety of food to choose from. Spoke to a lady who had a room the road side of the hotel and she said that it was really noisy so it seems we wouldn't have had quiet whatever side of the hotel we stayed. Brilliant for the Emmerdale tour Rooms: Very spacious business room but noisy as it was over the courtyard Food & drinks: Pricey in the restaurant
Room was a business room, but layout was dreadful. Telly on side wall, so had to lay sideways in bed to watch it. No mirror on wall above desk/dressing table as weekends these rooms are used definitely, couples etc. Had to move a chair to sit on in front of the full length mirror on another wall to dry my hair etc. Just silly things but annoying things. But generally the hotel was lovely, breakfast choices were great. Restaurant food was good to, staff were friendly. Rooms: Stayed in a business room and that's exactly what it was a business room. Layout wasn't very nice. TV on a side wall so had to lay in bed sideways to watch it, was clean & tidy but I've stayed in better. Food & drinks: Food was nice in both restaurants. Perhaps a bit pricey but hotels often are. But still nice.
I enjoyed my stay at Weetwood Hall. The area is lovely, and the drive in is beautiful, especially in the evening when it's lit up. The service was good, staff were friendly. The rooms were good, a little worn and dirty for a 4 star hotel. There was some mould in the shower, and everywhere needed a good lick of paint. My biggest problem was the noise. There's no soundproofing, which means you can hear everything in the corridor, from the room above, and the rooms next to you. This made me feel uncomfortable, especially when I was in the bathroom and could hear everything the person upstairs was doing in their bathroom! Our room overlooked the courtyard where there's a bar, and it was incredibly noisy until about half past eleven. This really dampened the experience for us. All in all, it's a nice-looking hotel and the location is convenient, but it's not the best if you're looking for a decent night's sleep, or just a bit noise sensitive. Definitely not the peaceful getaway I was expecting it to be.
Having stayed at Weetwood Hall before, I would highly recommend it to anyone, particularly if you’re flying from Leeds Bradford Airport only 10 mins taxi ride. We chose to stay on a “Fly Park” deal with a room booked on two nights, each dnd of a one week holiday to Spain. Parking was included whilst we were away. The accommodation is of a high standard and the restaurant food is good, with the option of eating and drinking at their adjoins Stables Bar. It was our Anniversary and the hotel kindly upgraded us to a luxury room in The Manor House - the original part of the hotel - which dates back to 1540. This accommodation is highly recommended. In our return we had delayed flights and we arrived late for breakfast, but the front of house staff went out of their way to help and still managed to get us a Full English Breakfast. Great hotel and welcoming staff. Cant wait to stay again! Rooms: Well appointed Comfortable beds
A beautiful setting with a lovely bar the bar staff are very welcoming, plenty of seating, Only downside is the parking it was a nightmare when the Emmerdale tours are running, once a parking space is found its all good. Dogs are welcome in the bar not sure about the hotel so please ask. Very easy to find just follow saunas.
Forget it it’s not worth of the star ratings better off at a travellodge at least they are clean unlike the toilets and shockingly poor service at the Convine resteraunt ine in Dinner £1–10 DONT even dream of eating here ! With a 4.1 review that is declining rapidly all of you who reads this make your own minds up ! It doesn’t need me to show you how poor this place is to be fair I also have the FOOTAGE Please see the BILL that amounted to a grand total of 10 pounds ! Why ? Please read on this is the embarrassing situation that was only tried to be resolved with a call with a VERY RUDE and obnoxious GM of the hotel a Mr Stephen Kershaw who was asked to call me by the MD of the hospitality management company on balance this chap Richard ellison was very pleasant and handled this is a respectful manner unlike the hotels GM who thought he was trying to be arrogant with me something that doesn’t wash I’m afraid ! Uncooked food staff who aren’t interested and a generally obnoxious general manager of a hotel who thinks he can hide behind a very VERY university owned hotel who’s food is more reflective of a canteen than of a 4 star resteraunt I took some friends into the awful Convine resteraunt where do I start ? Tables that are old and not fit for purpose ? Food that isn’t cooked correctly some burnt some undercooked chicken that must have been left to stew it was literally like string ! It took over 1 hour 45 mins to get served the place needs closing down and to be frank when the General Manager of the hotel was pulled up about this by myself through the MD of the management company running this hotel he was OBNOXIOUS who the hell does he think he is ? The reviews of this place speak for themselves please all read the RECENT post pandemic reviews as this is a true reflection you would be better placed at the Toby carvery down the road than a place of not so FADED grandeur trying to be something it’s not and instead of being constructive in taking criticism attempt to try and deflect the issue by saying “we got a free meal” how dare they ! They will learn the hard way when there’s a downtime in people dining there AVOID at all costs also the toilets filthy in this hotel various reviews will be left at random times by many after this episode to show the hotel it needs to learn to start cleaning up its act ! They had no option but to give us a free meal as it was a disaster with no service worth of even a 1 start hotel let a lot 4 stars they must have been looking at the moon itself rather than the actual stars ! When rating this dive a free meal that we didn’t eat ? This is ALL the GM could talk about when it was a DUTY to do this rather than they doing me a favour all they could go on about was I quote “you got a free meal didn’t you ?” Er “yes that we didn’t eat ! “ in reality I should have pressed for compensation off them as this was a meal treat for a cancer patient in my party suffering with TERMINAL cancel but of course they didn’t care about that ! In this era of money and “well we have had many people on that day and no complaints “ the manger seemed more interested in legal challenges than cleaning up the act of a FILTHY establishment where the staff don’t clearly care about how long it takes to service people a CLEAR common theme among lots a lot of the reviews both here Tripadvisor and fork plus many many more after this managers should offer apologies to its customers rather than legal challenges that the CANNOT substanciate as they would take years and be quashed by photographic evidence ! And VIDEO footage which demonstrates the moot points discussed here and something everyone who dines there needs to be aware of BEFORE choosing this place ! Please check out the bill a true admission of poor quality for me even to consider this review change the hotel need to offer a serious apology for the attitude of the GM don’t talk over me learn to have a discussion not a slanging match of who can shout the loudest as it doesn’t work with me nor do legal threats of a GM of a hotel where there’s photos !
We only stopped to pick up a coach tour, on return we had a bit to eat, cheese and pickle sandwich which I sent back as it was almost all pickle and no cheese. My mum had chips as she has celiac gluten allergy they had to get cooked separately in the oven, 20 mins for cold chips. Nice staff but service has no organisation, food arrives then they get your cutlery.
Beyond disappointing and embarrassing experience when I used this hotel for my mother’s celebration of life service and afternoon tea for her friends and relatives. The afternoon tea was quite frankly appalling - really poor quality food. Better suited to a transport cafe. Nothing like what one would expect for a full afternoon tea in a four star hotel. Worst in Yorkshire, never mind Leeds, I would say. The service provided by the single waiter was poor and I even had to put the notice alerting people to the room we were in Jacobean Suite outside at the entrance, after another guest spotted it hidden behind a chair. I wrote to explain my disappointment and 11 days later have received no response. Their indifference is staggering, especially considering this is a hospitality industry establishment. I will never use this hotel for anything again. Anyone looking to use this place for an event would be strongly advised to book elsewhere. Food & drinks: Awful. Really poor quality.
