My wife currently has a bladder infection, she had this problem couple of times before and she is well familiar with the symptoms and how to do a urine collection sample. So let me begin the story- she has been dragging this problem 3 months that is not her fault, bad doctors, etc before she came to give a urine sample for a urine culture test. She did urine culture test in their Med Lab, first time results came "Mixed growth of organisms. Heavy growth of at least 3 organisms. This represents contamination of the urine with the patient's flora during collection. This result does not exclude urinary tract infection but it is not possible to determine causative organism. If symptoms persist, please send a repeat urine and ensure that patient understands optimal collection technique." She repeated the urine culture test just to be sure it is collected properly and the result came exactly the same. After that, she came to the urologist with both test results, and based on the results, urologist sends her for a CT scan and cystoscopy. Month and a half has passed and she still didn't get even an appointment to do that but this is a different story. Meanwhile, the annual holiday arrived, she went to Croatia and she did a Urine culture test there, results came- Proteus mirabilis, Enterococcus faecalis, and Escherichia coli bacteria were present, the conclusion is that bacterias were heavily colonizing or urine sample was contaminated. Considering the time she started to have this problem, pains in bladder, two visits in an emergency department etc., till the urine sample test, she had classic symptoms of bladder infection and it is common sense that these bacterias are most common problem causing this, and they shouldn't exist in urine, it should be logical that the urine sample is not contaminated. After that, based on the precise urine sample result, a urologist from Croatia gave her therapy- she is currently using antibiotics for those bacterias and her pain in bladder is gone, she is feeling a lot better. Conclusion is this- Med Lab didn't wrote in results what kind of bacterias were present in urine, on the contrary, they just copy-past test results from the first time and based on that, it misled urologist to do something that is not necessary. They didn't even think that these bacterias are causing her pains, she gave a urine sample for a reason! They charge her two times without reliable results. Strong personal advice, avoid them at any cost and do this somewhere else or you will pay with your health for their irresponsibility. For any further explanation, anybody can contact me.
