Great park - mixture of woodland, water and fields. Well worth a visit! It's pity some of the main paths have never been surfaced as they get very muddy in the Winter. Likewise, the horse riders who ignore Council signage and end up creating a paths of horse poo, especially around the playground (captive audience of children to sell horse riding to, I guess) are quite aloof and rude. The park is cared for - you see groups of volunteers doing their best and helping. Where else do you see adults playing fantasy role play, teenagers singing in the woods and the occasional deer!?

Its a bit hard to be critical of this park as it has almost everything that you could need in a park. There is plenty of space for playing games and throwing sticks. There is a decent adventure playground with the obligatory ice cream van. You can walk from here all the way up to Golden acre or further if you want to, and the walk is decently interesting. You can also walk back almost to the city centre if you choose to. There is also the beck with a variety of ponds crossings and stepping stone. Its easy to find and there is ample parking and plenty of access points. Finally there is a decent enough cafe, or further eating options 5 minutes walk away in meanwood.

A proper park, not too gentrified, expect lots of dog walkers, runners, mountain bikers etc. Cafe sometimes open. Car park. Children's playground. Good sledging when snow on the ground.

Very nice park but the café didn't seem to be open when we were there on a Friday afternoon.

Absolutely the best park in the city. Nice walks. Very dog friendly. Good for all family to spend time.
