Story

Maya is a late night tequila and cocktail bar underneath Lucha Libre on Wood Street. Where Lucha Libre is about contemporary Mexican food and culture, Maya explores the depths of Dia de los Muertos or The Day of The Dead celebrations. We are open every night apart from Mondays and we are now taking bookings for our red and green cross caged booths and private hire functions. For more information email [email protected]

Love coming here with my friends and my sister to dance without being harassed or over crowded to the point we can't enjoy ourselves. The bar can get very busy but with great music we don't mind the wait for the drinks. There is always security on the doors and one inside so you never have that issue of security guards running in and out pushing people like disrespectful gorillas swimming with their over sized arms waving in the crowds just to get to the cause of trouble which is very rare. If a glass breaks on the floor they are very quick to get it cleaned up and staff often go round collecting glasses so there is no challenges of being paranoid/worrying over stepping on any glasses whilst dancing.
After spending forever researching the grande finale night out for my two girlfriends joint birthday, weekend celebrations in Liverpool 40ths,Maya really stood out. Wow!!!! What a blinder of a night we had. This place and all its staff are really special. From booking our booth, all my questions, messaging back and forth.... Nothing was too much trouble. Once we arrived... Late, Christian excitedly strode over to us, big smile, really welcoming and took us to our caged booth. IT WAS AMAZING!!!!! They has special Cupcakes made, a bottle of bubbly as a gift and buckets of ice filled with everything our party of 6 needed. All night they came back and forth, looking after us, making the most Amazing shots for us. The music was Awesome and just got better and better throughout the night. We didn't stop dancing and stayed till the early hours. Even the doormen were ace, had a right laugh from start to finish with you all!!!! Thankyou all, for making our night a massive success, everyone loved it, your all Amazing and cant wait to return. Ali, Colette, Hazel, Emma, Laura and Grace xxx

Same cocktails as lucha libre, but this plac is pretty rad. And dark. But cool.
Small, sweaty, and cramped. Just not my kind of place. Not a fan of the music either but it seemed quite popular with others
