Welcome to Maxies Bistro!

Norman and Lynn MacLeod invite you to enjoy the intimate atmosphere of their attractive Edinburgh based family run establishment, which offers a comprehensive and varied menu all freshly cooked to order, and a fine selection of exclusive dishes such as the succulent seafood platter and Norman's own unique sauce recipies.

We are in a superb location just below Edinburgh Castle near the top of the 'Royal Mile' with a splendid and popular garden terrace offering panoramic views over the rooftops of Old Town Edinburgh.

Very good taste foods and very nice staff with good hospitality!
Amazingly tasty food with very friendly staff. Seafood platter was well worth the money and the chicken stiffed with haggis was lovely. Couldn’t fault this lovely bistro. Nice olde decor that fits so well with Edinburgh castle nearby.
Pretty place with a quirky ambiance. The food was ok but not as great as I was expecting. I had the fish and chips as a main which I read online was excellent but was left disappointed with the taste and portion size for the price. However my haggis starter was very nice.
