Fantasyic food enjoy my dim sum
Good food, nice atmosphere, great service The food can be really good or just good. It’s the lack of consistency that is difficult. When it’s good, this is by far the best Chinese Restaurant in Leeds. Other days it’s just ok. The restaurant also can be rather cold, so it’s makes it an uncomfortable dining experience sometimes. It’s the only place I get Chinese Takeaways, but it’s hard to predict whether I will be happy or just full.
Food is amazing but a poor choice for those that can't eat sesame products. One of our party cant eat sesame which I appreciate is in a lot of chinese food/cooking methods but there was only squid available everything else apparently couldn't be eaten. And the squid was tough. We waited an hour between courses. Also the staff are pretty miserable - kind of adds to the ambience though, we keep going back after all.
Went here for dinner as it was around Cathe corner for the holiday in. No reservations needed, and we're seated very quickly. Ordered the vegetarian set menu for two between myself and my partner. Appropriate portion sizes for the soups and 2nd course i.e. just enough food but not overly filling. Only down side about the place is the loos need more regular cleaning. Definitely would recommended to anyone wanting authentic Cantonese and Peking food!!!
One of the better Chinese restaurants in Leeds. Does solid dim sum and Crispy shredded duck but prices are a bit higher than some so it's certainly not a cheap place to eat in but quality is usually good.
We have been going to Maxi's for over 20 years and tonight is the first time we had to complain about the service. We waited 50 minutes for the first course to come however once we had spoken to them everything was sorted out and they provided a complimentary drink. Will not stop going because of this one of experience as normally the service is good and the food is always good
Food not wot it used 2b. Salt n pepoer chicken had NO salt or pepper...sweet snd sour just sweet no lovely spicy bite like it used to have. Just average overall really. Gad yo ask THREE times b4 we got our water for the table. Just a shame reallly..know they are closing but why not go out in style instead of overpriced average food??
We have just spent 3 hours in this restaurant, the time could easily have been halved if staff had been more observant. It wasn't busy for the majority of time we was in there. The food is too expensive for what it is, it should be more of an all you can eat cheap buffet. We won't be coming back as I have been twice in 3 month but they were only for special occasions.
It's in my top 3 Chinese restaurants in the city. The food is good, though they don't have my favourites. After a dozen visits they have never made any mistakes on the food order.
This is the best Chinese restaurant that our family have ever been to. We go to Maxis on a regular and always have excellent food and speedy, friendly service. We often bring friends who also fall in love with the restaurant.
