We found this place online and made the decision to try it when we were in Manchester city centre. We made use of their happy hour offer and a free pizza. The pizza was excellent, and it was a wonderful deal. The life music enhanced the pleasant ambiance, and the personnel were delightful.Food: 5/5
I didn’t really get anything to eat or drink here. I just wanted to listen to some good music and I did. I had the privilege of watching the Nick Dewhurst Band perform and they were amazing! Kudos to the entire team for captivating the audience and getting everyone jiving and grooving. Best wishes to all the band members! PS: will definitely go back and get some food and drinks next time! ;
Amazing place! Great atmosphere, chilled clientele, a solid queer/friendly vibe. Ridiculously attractive bar staff and incredibly talented musicians. Can't recommend highly enough.Service: 5/5
Great live music location. Very friendly & positive vibes all over. Great happy hour.Service: 5/5
Such a great venue! My best friend recently did her first headline show here and the venue was perfect! The staff were so lovely and accommodating, the space is lovely, and the pizzas were great. Thank you for having us for Meduulla's show :Food: 5/5
What a lovely atmosphere, and lovely little venue.. the pizza, free pizza during happy was fab, the music was fab and the cocktails were fab. Definitely will be going again once the opportunity arrives again.. Had a lovely evening with my daughter on this who loves the cello..
Great old school place with amazing live shows happening few times a week. I was amazed they have gluten free options for food pizza and beer. I had a greek GF pizza and it was amazing. For GF beer - they offer daura, which is my usual choice anyway. Warmly recommend this place. Ideally you want to book a table fre days upfront as it gets cuite bussy. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options - you can order a GF pizza base when doing reservation and then choose whichever pizza from the menu, they will make it on that base. I had Greek pizza and it was amazing! The GF base is even bigger then the regular one! They also offer GF beer Daura- small bottle.
I love Matt and Phred’s so much! It’s easily the home of jazz in Manchester, and it does justice to that reputation! The venue is quite large for a jazz club, but sometimes it can really fill up and feel like quite an energetic, upbeat atmosphere. I’ve never had the staff be anything but kind and outgoing with me, and it’s always a pleasure to go here. I highly recommend their jam nights on Mondays. I attended the jazz jam, and it was a very welcoming group of musicians and audience. Great experience! Cocktails are well-made too! I love the happy hour deals they run every week day. Highly highly recommend
Great night out, good that they do food. Standard pizza, nice enough and service great. Good atmosphere but very very hotFood: 4/5
Great place for live music. .well established legendary venue. Been playing live music in there for years and it's always a great night.. often major celebrities just pass through and just jump on stage and perform.. how amazing is that. . First Monday of the month is the Blues and soul event.. and it's FREE Join Franny and live band and you can even get on stage and sing or play along with the amazing resident band !!! This place used to be open till 1am but new residents have moved onto the city centre where one would expect there to be clubs and bars with loud music? Yet they complain about the noise to the police about a well established well loved venue that's been here forever, yet priority was given to the complainant so the licence is now only 11.30?? The venue was here first..and if you don't like a lovely musical City? Why would you choose to move on to live where there are music venues and then complain ?? It's beyond me ? Priority should be given to long established licenced venues.. and not to people who decide to live in a noisy city.. that's their choice.. the venue has none..it's just conducting business as usual for decades.. Get a life and get out of our beautiful City if you can't live with our established culture . Miserable party pooppers.. !?! Stop spoiling our Great cities culture, go and live in the country where it suits your boring lifestyle and you can complain about the Owls and foxes making noise . And probably would too.
