They discount items, say from £10 to £5 but they don’t add the price change to the self scan machines… We bought quite a few items and had never used these tills before…. A young girl kindly helped us & scanned everything for us. When we got home we noticed the discount hadn’t been applied, so we paid £10 instead of £5.. This might not seem a lot but with the cost of living as it is at the moment it would have been better in our pockets than a large store. We are both in our mid 60s and will probably chalk it up to experience as it will cost at least £5 to get back the £5.
Absolute joke of a store since they removed HUMANS. One person on the tills for exchanges and collections. I have just stood for 25 minutes to receive a collection because they're serving exchange customers and the other two useless entities are stood jangling. Won't be going back here anymore. I spend a fortune with Matalan as well. I'm so disappointed with you Matalan. Sort your store out
Great prices, good clothing range and a decent home range. The new layout inside is much improved. Editing the star rating from the 4 that I had previously to 1 as the changing rooms are only open at the weekends now so you have to buy everything in multiple sizes to try on at home and then come back another day and spend 30 minutes getting the ones that don't fit refunded, pointless exercise and the reason is obvious that it's to save a little money by not having staff looking after the changing rooms. Horrible customer experience now when combined with the self checkout and ponderously slow manned tills that you get shouted at if you try and use with a card.
Hate this shop with a passion, since they have added the self service tills if you are not paying by card or you are collecting a parcel of returning something you have to wait to be seen by a human, may as well kiss goodbye to half an hour of your life, it’s disgusting customer service, get some people on the tills for gods sake, seriously not shopping there anymore, it’s so frustrating
No fitting rooms open only on weekends that why you go to shops cost more having to go back if don't fit
Sometimes you can grab a good bargain and there's always a variety of sizes and styles etc... Unfortunately in summer it's like a greenhouse, absolutely boiling which puts a lot of people off going in!! Most of the staff are happy to help and assist, although I have come across one older member who is a bit on the grumpy side!
Hi all was looking for shorts white asked a member of staff for help was most helpfull in showing what shorts in my size where in stock and that if did not have my size I could order online but had my size got two pairs very happy shopper
Good size store, staff friendly. So hot inside you feel like you are melting though. Makes for an uncomfortable shopping experience
Called into matalan today , I had a very good customer service at the checkout Warren helped me with my vouchers on the self service till ,He was so polite and helpful went out of his way also chatty fellow should be more like him .
I came and found some clothing for work in the sale section. Now I wished to purchase but I NEED to try clothes on due to my shape. Unfortunately due to C19 the fitting rooms are out of order totally understandable... but when I asked a young girl what the situation would be if I took the items home to try on she said you would only be able to get store credit... Now I dont find this fair. There is no facility to try on in store to make sure I got the right size so I am forced to try on at home... Therefore if I want to purchase these items Id have to accept the chances of being left with store credit. I dont shop here often at all, and I am quite annoyed that this is the only option given.
