Visited on Sunday the 3rd October and arrived just after opening. After selecting a few items to try on my wife and I headed to the fitting rooms. We didn't try on any of the trousers as we didn't want to set foot on the disgusting floors. One had what looked veryuch like a feceas stain on the floor and all of them were frankly in need of a thorough deep clean. There was dust, litter and stains in pretty much every part of each cubicle. We left without buying most of the items. This was at the beginning of the day so can't be blamed on customers that day. I emailed the photographs I include with this review to Matalan several days ago and have had no response. Given the current situation I would have though MORE cleaning would be in operation.?
Great place to shop for a variety of things. Clothing for men, women and children, together with many items for the home, at a good price. I'm just wondering, however, why it's so cheap and where their products are made? Hopefully where a "Fair" price is paid.
My wife and I had a great shop today, 16/02/22. The most amazing bargains, very clean and well run store. Fast check out and helpful staff. Will definitely shop here again.
Very clean bright and welcoming shop. Very airy and easy to move around. Good quality merchandise and not just clothing. Holiday, kitchen and bedroom items all catered for. Very good selection of children's clothes. Mens clothing a little drab at times. No toilet facilities but ample free parking outside in retail park. Staff team very friendly and helpful.. Christmas items well in stock now.
Superb shop. Had some great bargains there today, like the clothing items for men. Parking was good. Staff were really friendly. Got a freebie at the till too.
Surprising. We'll laid out. Good selection of clothing for women men and children. All Christmas decorations are out now. Big carpark but not enough spaces because it's next to Aldi and other large stores. Maybe not go Friday at 11am!
I have been a customer of Matalan for a number of years. My previous stores were larger, but this one still has a large selection of goods in store. I find that I mainly shop in the homeware department, they have some very nice & very useful items. There is a good choice of ladies wear, sportswear, swimwear, shoes some real leather, handbags and many accessories. I do find some nice pieces in ladies wear, usually in the "Falmer" range. They also have a menswear section, but I have never looked so can't comment. Children's department... When my daughter was younger between about 7 to 10yrs we purchased numerous clothing items from their "Hooch" collection, which was good quality and very stylish - I was extremely disappointed when then stopped selling this brand. The choice remaining was the "Candy Couture" range, but it's quality and selection deteriorated. Now I find there is nothing specifically for teenage girls, certainly not for those who may be a little taller. We look in the women's section but many items are just to "old" for a young teenage girl to wear. We have found "New Look" to be an affordable, fashionable alternative - their larger branches have a teenage clothing section, try Castlepoint, which is great. I am sure Matalan get great business, so teenage wear is not a priority. Certainly worth a visit and a good browse, it's likely you'll find something you want to buy.
Really poor service. Since they got self service which is only for card payments they have only one person on the tills in December?!?! Causing bigger queues in a time when people want to spend less time in a shop.
This Matalan is not a massive and the layout of the store is somewhat weird. During multiple visits I found a lot of items to be cheaper than displayed which I find annoying because you want to know how much each item is before purchasing it, then you can max out your budget. The parking is a bit of a nightmare, I highly recommend that you avoid peak times and weekends.
Lovely place good quality clothes for babies 100% cotton what I love . Good prices for future mum's and for kids. Amazing helpful staff. Highly recommended
