We came for bottomless brunch which was pretty cool with a few options for drinks. The rum wasn’t too strong so it went down well for me! The food was good, and the triple cooked chips was probably my favourite. The downside would be cost and atmosphere, it was just too loud to be able to hear anything and quite a tight space. For a bigger group of friends and maybe one time visit is fine but I couldn’t see myself going there with a small group.
I love it, a very special place. The pizza was the best I ever had, it's so delicious. There is a wide variety of drinks, we enjoyed the Gin Cocktails. Very nice people!
Martello Hall on Mare Street. A bit of a gem. The house lager is lovely, served with a laugh and a smile by the excellent barman guiding the ship on my visit. The place is geared to the Saturday bottomless brunch but appears welcoming to everyone. Not the place for lovers of real ales as there are none as far as I could see!. Everything else is spot on though wonderful service and a jolly clientele. A delightful place. Just explored a bit more, for a workout, visit the toilets - on the second floor. Great restaurant area at the rear. The place looks beautiful+ the most helpful excellent staff to help
A lovely bar with great staff and nice seatings!! Asked for passionfruit based mocktail and the bar man made it so nicely!! Although it was Saturday and we did not have a reservation they found us a seat quickly and it was a very quick service to ordering as well. They have a pizza oven which looked amazing! The pizza was ok, but this might be just because we chose a interesting pizza rather than some of the classical pizzas. Lovely second floor terrace as well.
Went for bottomless brunch, overall very disappointed. Staff were lovely but clearly overworked, booze was great loved the mix-your-own prosecco idea but the food was poor quality, especially for the price. We were told one main had run out 1.5 hours after we'd ordered, another showed up 30 min late, and we were charged for someone else's pizza. One pasta dish was inedible and pizzas were just okay - but *so* expensive for what they were. To be fair to the manager, she took all the food off the bill after we complained, but I wouldn't visit again. Have been here for dinner a few years back and loved it - maybe they just don't put the same effort into brunch
I love Martello hall! I’ve been the past 2 years for my birthday and many times for food and drinks! They are a full service venue - brunch / lunch/ dinner / drinks and late bar & music! Lots of options for table bookings and private hire. The service can be slow due to running short staffed possibly- but the servers / hosts/ bar staff are always so lovely. Great food, big stone pizza oven in the back and plenty of options on the menu for all dietary requirements including vegan/ dairy free etc. Great drinks- beer wine/ sparkling menu as well as cocktails and in house gin! Hugely recommend for brunch/ birthday plans/ group plan or even drinks. Open mornings until 3am so there’s always time to visit!
I’ve just been to a birthday brunch with some friends to your restaurant, food was great drinks were great but the management was appalling. We were never once offered drinks asked how our food was, our table was only cleared when there was no more space for dirty glasses or plates. I felt like I was sitting in the scullery we all enjoyed food and drinks but the experience was spoilt by poor management. That there’s no manager on duty on a Saturday is shocking we spent over 300£ in your restaurant.
We had our wedding reception here and it was the best decision we made. The whole experience from start to finish was seamless, Adam and the team there were so accommodating. Nothing was ever a problem. The attention to detail was on par with any full time wedding venue, but still retained all the charm of a relaxed and fun London pub/restaurant setting. The food and drink were exceptional, with every guest commenting on how impressed they were by it all. Adam went above and beyond to sort our day, if anyone is looking to have a wedding that won’t cost the earth, but will outshine most traditional weddings, then I couldn’t recommend Adam and Martello Hall enough.
We went here for a company Christmas party and it was great fun. The staff who helped us organise it were fantastic, they were quick to respond to all emails and accommodating of our needs. On the night, everything went according to plan, the space was decorated nicely and it was all set up before we arrived. The cocktail making class was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone, and we had access to the music system to play our own music. Only thing which needed improvement was the service, they probably needed a couple more people behind the bar and a few more catering staff to bring the food up as it got a bit slow. But overall a great night enjoyed by everyone - thank you!
We booked in for the 1.30 brunch session, it was very busy but Ruby looked after us all sooo well! The food was great, service was great, so much to drink you definitely get your monies worth. All my friends were so happy with it all too - one of the best brunches I’ve been to for a while! Thank you for making my birthday special Ruby!!
