Frizzante

Story

Frizzante cafe is styled on the Agriturismo’s in Italy where the farm restaurant offered all produce grown on the farm, meats, vegetables, wines and oils. Although our gardens aren’t large enough to support a similar enterprise in East London we aim to source all our ingredients from smaller suppliers. Locally roasted coffee, community vegetable schemes and independent fresh fish suppliers all provide local unique flavours and the variety and quality from these suppliers always amazes us.

All of our food is freshly cooked on the premises using seasonal ingredients and whenever possible ingredients from the farm gardens. From fresh pasta and salads to Sunday roasts, delicious homemade cakes, locally made Italian style ice-cream and English fruit juices.

Price for tea is good. £1.8 for chamomile or other tea. Not too sweet for cakes which is good for me.Food: 4/5
Just had the most incredible evening here with friends. Thursday night with live music, most delicious food, and in a garden was an absolute dream. Couldn’t have picked a better place Food: 5/5
Beautiful relaxing place for a coffee or breakfast. The waiters were very nice. I recommend the strawberry and mint soda.Food: 5/5
Kindness and good food reign supreme in this place. service always available with great friendliness. we had a great birthday. Delicious, carefully made food with generous portions. The fresh bread made fresh every day is delicious and I recommend it. The place is located in the city center but being inside a small forest, makes it all so magical and beautiful.
This is a great community based cafe. Their pasta is hearty and delicious. It’s low key and family friendly. Part of the farm and we go here very often for food that just makes you happyFood: 5/5
My partner and I love Frizzante and our friends do too! This year was the 2nd time I held my birthday party there and the whole experience was absolutely amazing! The food, drink and service from the staff couldn’t have been any better. They went out of their way to make our time so special. I had the lamb shank which was incredibly delicious and falling off the bone! I give 10/10 because that’s what frizzante deserves and nothing less. I would recommend everyone to go. Not to forget the garden which is stunningly rustic, as is everything about Frizzante, rustic, homely and feels like going home to family every time
I have been going to this restaurant since it first started and have seen the menu change with time. Having not been since before the pandemic I thought I would drop by for brunch. Firstly let me say the staff today we're fantastic - could not fault their friendliness, helpfulness and general work ethic. The place was quite for a Sunday. Secondly the food tastes amazing. It is obviously made well and the chefs care about what they do. The reason for 3 stars is the price versus what you get. It was £12.50 for a 'farmers' breakfast - well I know a lot of farmers and if I served them the size of breakfast I got they would not be happy. The sausage was not a sausage it was tiny - one mushroom and one slice of bread. The whole brunch with flat white and service charge cost £17.53 and served to remind me not to go again for breakfast. I would go for the roast chicken though as that looked like good value for money - and coffee and cake. Also the farm itself is a wonderful place.
Love the place, super busy in Sundays , lots of families and kids. Food is super fresh and tasty, a bit expensive but it’s central London I suppose … Service wasn’t great though, the waitress looked like she hadn’t slept all night, yawning continuously even when she took our order. We had to ask for water 3 times to 3 different people. None made any effort to come and clear the dishes when we finished and we had to chase someone to pay as we were leaving.
Absolutely awful. We found out after eating the only vegan option on the menu contained fish. The manager was rude and smirking and shrugging while we complained, refusing to accept responsibility and just blamed the chef - while at the same time telling us it was in the pre-prepared sauce. He wouldn’t even say sorry, just kept saying it’s not their problem despite mentioning it had happened before with another customer. I had asked him twice before we ate the food if it was vegan and trusting him ate the entire thing. One of the other members of our group found what looked like a bone after I had finished and we asked to check with the chef, to be told that it had anchovy in. It was clearly listed as vegan and the ingredients did not match the menu description. After finding out one of our group was sick in the toilet and left in tears, I felt sick for the rest of the night as this is the first time I have eaten fish in 32 years - since I was 5 years old. The manager did not care at all, after initially complaining it took him about 20 minutes to come and speak to us despite the place being completely empty. He just started collecting glasses - I had to ask him if he was actually the manager and find out what was happening. He just said he would remove the anchovy dishes from the bill but insistent we pay for everything else in full. It took everyone in our group arguing with him to get 50% discount on the food but we had to pay full price for the wine. That is not really enough considering it ruined our celebration and due to a complete lack of care and knowledge to what they are putting in the food. Never going here again and that manager should not be working in the hospitality industry. Waitress was nice though Vegetarian options: Do not trust the menu - they don’t know what is in the dishes, clearly labelled vegan option had fish in Dietary restrictions: Not safe - the menu listed completely different ingredients to what was in the dishes. The vegan option which we checked on twice before eating contained seafood!
