The gym is not huge but has most of what you need for a decent workout. The good thing is it hasn't been too busy when I went. The spa is quite good and there are separate saunas and steam rooms. The website says which days are for men/women/mixed but on the men's day a few women seemed to walk in so maybe better signage or something to indicate the session might be good. Overall decent place
Very wide lanes and not too busy even during the busiest time of the day. The pool itself is also great, all that's missing is a sauna. High and roomy lockers bring a padlock, though the hairdryers are unconveniently downstairs. Worth a visit.
The boiler room was not working and all the shower water and pool water wad cold. For The locker i couldn't use 1 pound coin to lock instead needed to bring my own lock which was a little unexpected. It could have been nice if there was a notice about cold water on the app or on the website. T
Staff is just the best! Everyone you encounter is just a pleasure to deal with. If you pick up the best times, not that busy and has this local vibe that makes you live this GYM forever… It will be just a dream came true that they would change the shower taps for the ones you choose how hot you feel like… sometimes it’s scalding hot! You need to play around a little bit, but you’ll find your tricks and the one it’s perfect… still my fav place to detox!
Lovely historic public swimming pool. 25m marble stone pool has tons of character. Nice modern spa area downstairs has lovely sauna and steam room with relaxation area
Culture of willful stupidity and bizarre decision making which is spoiling a great facility. Pool and shower water was freezing some months back with a sign up saying boiler was broken for the foreseeable future. I responded to an online feedback form telling them to just turn it back on and stop saving money on gas, then low and behold, the very next day the boiler was working again, the showers were hot. No one in reception seems to be able to sort out queries without asking a colleague, so you get the “us against them” treatment before you know it. Staff training must be somewhat lacking. When you complain to management they are defensive and take the side of their staff and are unwilling and perhaps unable to take onboard the big picture. A simple apology seems too much for them. But there are some cool people working here, and it’s a great facility, so it’s not fair to tar all with the same brush, but all the same, when things go wrong here, they go crazy wrong and it can be very frustrating, as many other reviewers are stating. Fingers crossed for gradual improvements. Need upper management to make more of a boutique customer friendly atmosphere for ALL customers and try harder to avoid the standard jobsworth attitude and small-minded mentality which is unfortunately found in leisure centers and sports clubs across the country. Papering over the cracks by asking the staff to write positive reviews on Google is possibly the wrong way to go about it and in my view wholly unacceptable. What a great facility. Such a great shame the customer service doesn’t match up to it, yet. You can do it guys!
Been at this place for a few months now, it's in a handy location in central soho. They have a reasonable amount of equipment but as with other gyms have only a few sets of starter free weights so you're often waiting around for the set you require. Staff seem pretty friendly compared to the Elephant branchdisinterested but my main issue is with the changing rooms. Firstly the showers are 'open' so if you're a bit prudish you're out of luck yet paradoxically they have private changing rooms - go figure?? They also have a 'dry' and 'wet' changing but nobody uses the wet so everyone from the pool upstairs uses the gym lockers making the floor wet all the time. Pretty irritating and nobody seems to police it. I only use the gym so far so can't comment on the classes, pool or spa but good to know they have these facilities. Other than that, not bad but I'll keep my options open for the time being.
Nice swimming Pool. There is everything you need: the shower, the hairdryer. The only thing is one has to bring their own locks for the lockers. But everything else is good.
Researched and tried to register for a free day pass with the understanding that I would be in the area for a week to swim and workout and would pay. Also wanted to check out the “Spa”. Couldn’t register online even with a UK post code. Walked over and was met with one of the rudest desk registrants ever. Horrible young man full of No’s. He said i could only register online for a day pass???? He finally typed in my information, and when I went to pay said they didn’t take Amex. That’s ok but it was the reason. He said no one takes it in London. Only “big corporations”. Uhm the leisure centre is part of a very large/payment system. Regardless if this is their policy I didn’t need the editorial on the big Corp. After this He did not help at all. I found my own way. No idea where I was going. I guess pointing to the pool was obvious. Fortunately brought my own towel. He argued with the lift man who was there to fix the lift behind me. I was going to check out the Spa. Went down there. No one there. It looked sad. The pool was nice but rusty in places. Assume it’s the age of the facility. It was clean. The guard on duty also couldn’t care less. Wasn’t sure if he was taking to himself or on the phone the whole time. Never made eye contact. The other guests said the same thing about the reception experience at the front. The other members were the most helpful. I’m sure other staff is great but I never encountered anyone else. Very bad experience. Won’t go back. Would not recommend. I get how difficult it is to be in the service industry but get rid of this guy. He’s costing you.
The worst swimming teacher and management ever. The teacher was so arrogant. I have called them to enquire about the lessons and then they told me to come. First lesson was good as there was some other teacher covering for the actual one. He was really good. I again confirmed from everyone what’s the exact procedure to register. The staff was good and told me that you can come next Thursday and then can register. Here comes Thursday and the actual teacher was there. She started blaming me about something that I mentioned to the reception. I even don’t her name and tried to explain the confusion but she was so arrogant and her attitude was so rude. Posting this as I really wanna learn swimming and was really happy that I got a chance here. But if there are teachers like this who demotivates someone on their first day and blame someone whom they don’t know it just shows how bad the management is.
