Excellent stay. Served with delicious and well presented afternoon tea on arrival. Dinner and breakfast are excellent and served in a split level dining room which is pleasantly casual and has a very agreeable ambience. Lovely quality bedroom with tall, elegant sash georgian windows which open up to the grounds and the calls of jackdaws. Very appealing quiet location despite convenient proximity to busy A1.  A fifteen minute walk from the hotel along the coast path with wonderful views brings you to a kissing gate. Walk through and as the signage either side of the gate confirms you have crossed the border into Scotland.
