A real gem in the hotel landscape on the Isle of Skye. The location upon arrival doesn’t make you think what’s about to come, it’s still very pretty but when you get inside it is a modern and slick space with an excellent restaurant to the left as you enter. The rooms are well decorated and spacious. We were on the first floor and had a back porch leading onto the garden and the also beautiful trees all around. The Spa are two private saunas you can book for an hour which come with access to a relaxation room that has water and tea readily available with lounge like day beds that next to a fireplace set into the well makes for a great experience. The last bonus is that while not directly in the town center it is at most a five minute walk that is very easy and pretty.
We were in Portree on a tour with Rabbies and were booked last minute for a night here when our other accommodations were unexpectedly closed.nWe were lucky!nThe staff were friendly, helpful and delightful to work with.nThe rooms were clean and quiet and the beds were comfortable! A few snacks in the room were a nice surprise after a long day.nThere is a nice bar and lounge with board games and spacious seating. A pretty patio we didn’t get to enjoy due to weather.nThe location was perfect, it was a short walk to town to shop and eat.nWe really enjoyed this stay and found the staff to be wonderful. We didn’t want to leave!
We had a lovely stay at Marmalade in Feb 2024. The front desk staff was kind and helpful, even upgrading our room upon arrival. The rooms were clean, well equipped, and had nice touches such as teas, snacks and water. The bed was quite possibly the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in - I'd even argue more comfortable than my bed at home - the sheets were soft with a warm down comforter on top. Location was perfect, just a short walk from downtown but in a secluded and quiet area. Our view from the room was beautiful, overlooking the harbor with great sunrises and sunsets. We will be back!
My husband and I stayed here for our Anniversary while in Skye. This was our favorite hotel from our entire Scotland/Ireland trip. We were blown away by the thoughtfulness & hospitality of the staff. The rooms are clean and beautiful. Breakfast is incredible and filled us up each day for all of the hiking we did. I really can't say enough good things about this hotel. We will definitely be back!
The staff at this hotel are absolutely amazing! So kind and always approachable. The rooms are also beautiful and we treated ourselves to a lovely sauna. Breakfast was absolutely amazing and great value for money! Overall it’s a great hotel in a great location but the staff is really what made our experience.
