Booked a table by sending an email. I had a quick response confirming my reservation. Free parking on the road outside, we were lucky and got a spot quite close. Nice spacious eating area and comfortable seating. The service was good, the food was nicely presented and tasty. Maybe a little expensive but that was OK. I forgot to take a photo of the starters and desserts.
We visited Mark G last night and we had a lovely evening. The menu and specials were varied, as we are seafood lovers this was an absolute dream and it was very difficult to pick a dish! The portions were good and very well presented. Unfortunately they did not have a kids menu but they were able to accommodate by preparing a small portion of fish and chips which my daughter loved. They had extensive drinks menu, but wish soft drinks were included as I don't drink alcohol. I'm not sure if it was my impression but the server almost seemed annoyed when I asked for what soft drinks they have. We will definitely come back when we are next back in Lowestoft as it was an incredible dining experience! Edit: one comment in hindsight, really didn't enjoy paprika on top of whitebait. Note to chef: it tasted bitter and made me want to cough, normally a spice like that should be cooked out.
Went there for my birthday, it was lovely. Cozy atmosphere, candles, my favourite retro music jazz, blues . Food was absolutely delicious . Nice people. Was a bit cold inside, but everything else was great . Thank you
Exceptional food with brilliant service. The restaurant has been converted within an old pub called The Blue Anchor. We were on a family visit to Lowestoft. The service was excellent, the food exceptional; 3 of us had fish and chips and 1 had roast chicken followed by delicious home made deserts. All dishes freshly cooked were served expediently. The restaurant set out and ambiance is delightful. We will definitely be eating here again.
Brilliant food, typical to Mark Gee and his ways. Flat Iron steak, truffle and Parmesan fries - chefs kiss. Prawn starter with garlic, also delicious.
Delicious food, really high quality. Every dish was excellent. Friendly staff too
Nice relaxed restaurant with great quality food at a really good price. The 2 snacks and 2 starter offer, is great value, the portions are large and the £20 cost is so cheap for the quality. Nice music playing, staff very friendly .... a thoroughly nice meal and evening. I will be back Food: 5/5
Fabulous restaurant. Great service and sublime food. Also cracking value for the quality. From the December menu I started with King prawns and followed with Hake Steak. Both dishes were generous and perfectly cooked. I'd thoroughly recommend it, can't believe there's a better restaurant in Lowestoft.
I’ve been to MarkG three times and have loved each visit. Delicious food, great service and a nice environment. The fish is wonderful and the team go above and beyond to accommodate dietary requirements. I look forward to my next visit!
On my birthday my wife brought me here. It was wonderful
