We had our Christmas day lunch here We booked it quite late and I explained that there would be three special needs children coming too and would it be possible to have a quiet table. Scott the manager was amazing! He and all the staff involved were so kind and helpful. The food and where we were seated were great. We all had a fantastic time Thank you so much for such a happy and unforgettable day
We spent two nights here to use credit from a cancelled flight. Room overlooked the beach and was quite comfortable. Breakfast was fine but the only time we had dinner we had to reject one of the meals, fish and chips, which were supposed to be a house specialty. However we enjoyed the stay.Rooms: 3/5
A great place to enjoy a tasty snack or larger meal while overlooking Lowestoft seafront. You can sit inside or out. We enjoyed a bowl of cheesy chips but it was enough to encourage me to book a table with my family for my birthday a week or so later. This is a very pleasant place to eat and drink and is probably one of the better hospitality locations in town.
Stayed for wedding anniversary in Elizabeth Suite 113. Highly recommend this room. Beautiful, Clean, Modern. Lovely seaside view & location. Nice breakfast. Can't wait to stay again. Pleasant staff in breakfast room. They work hard.Rooms: 5/5
Myself and my mum stumbled across the hotel whilst out and about walking around Lowestoft. We booked dinner for Saturday night and were not disappointed. Jen and Kayleigh our waitresses were extremely professional and attentive. Then were also warm and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We had a fantastic meal at the hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone in the Lowestoft area.
Went as a group of nine for Sunday lunch. Poor and incredibly slow service throughout. One too many main courses arrived. Several desserts didn't arrive at all. Waitresses didn't really seem to know what they were doing. Undercooked gammon, mint sauce with turkey and rock hard cauliflower. Complained and were told that they were very busy. The table behind us had been waiting for 40 minutes for their desserts, only to be asked if they wanted to order desserts again. Two stars only because they took the desserts which did arrive off the final bill. Stressed staff and diners. Would advise taking your custom elsewhere.
Lovely long weekend away with friends. Hotel was super clean, food was good and promptly delivered. The room we had had a fault with the heating and the staff moved us straight away, no problem. Seaview room was amazing and Jade at reception was an absolute star. Having a 24 hour bar was a great touch - especially after a night out on the town. I would recommend Bestwestern above all others. Thanks for helping to make our time in Lowestoft such a trouble free weekend.
Cheap rooms ,so don't expect luxury, but still very nice and clean. Great location. The food and service was outstanding! We loved itRooms: 3/5
Great staff, excellent location with sea views. Food good, excellent fish and chips, and good range of beers. Comfortable rooms, though perhaps decor a little old fashionedRooms: 4/5
Must be fair and point out our arrival was on the day of the late Queen's funeral. Not enough staff led to some being obviously stressed and overworked but mostly friendly and helpful. Spent the first two nights in a good room with two window sea views as booked but no walk in shower as had been confirmed, then finally achieved meeting a manager and we moved to a room with the promised walk in shower but smaller and with only one window in the bedroom. Compensation was also discussed but not offered until checkout and although described as a refund for the first night stayed, that was a cheaper night than some of the others and taxes for that night were not refunded. We live in strange uncertain times where staffing, costs, pricing, maintenance and many other things are an issue, so we prefer not to recommend or not recommend but hopefully to give some honest details such as having five issues in the first room and one in the second, all put right quickly by a very friendly helpful maintenance manager, slow service at times of breakfast and a la carte restaurant with confusing menu options but as previously stated not enough staff at certain times meaning those working had many things to do. So there it is, book or don't book it's up to you, but check on arrival that you have the correct room and board.
