Needed help at very short notice. Did e-consult on Monday at 8 am. Got an appointment with Dr Juan Sierra at 10.15 am. It was absolutely brilliant, the Reception staff too were super helpful, and by midday things were sorted, prescription issued and my confidence in Marine Lake‘s treatment once again confirmed. Thank you everyone for your wonderful service and help.
Requiring an urgent blood test I arrived at the surgery at 8.05 am yesterday. Explaining my situation to the receptionist Debbie ,she immediately contacted a nurse who was able to carry out my test straight away without any waiting! Debbie also showed a genuine interest in my condition and is a credit to the surgery team.
On Monday I had a issue that needed urgent attention. I used Econsult at 7.30am, was directed to speak to someone at 111, they arranged a phone call from the surgery, Dr Aldwinkle called me by 9.15am, he called me in for a face to face consultation at 10am, he sent me to Arrowe Park for a scan at 11am. By 12 noon I had a diagnosis and advice to follow to help me recover. At each stage I was impressed by how well I was treated by all concerned. Dr Aldwinkle made a follow-up call to me today and I am already feeling better. Thank you very much for the excellent service I received.
This medical practice was absolutely terrible during the four years I went there 2020-2024 they ignored most requests and referrals, including privately paid assessments that were done on their reccomdation. They also gave me the WRONG prescription dose and when I had issues put me through months of exams before realizing their own mistake. Additionally when I called to ask about other current medications, they resorted to using Google search and reading out the results to me, which was pretty unsettling to say the least. They also clearly don't look at your health chart before making decisions or giving advice.nAlso, during the four and a half years I was there I never saw anyone more than once and had no actual 'GP' assigned to me.
Yet another slew of endless e-consult and telephone ping pong. Place seems to forget what it is for, the actual patient. Most GPs are OK. The practice spends more energy on arguing and throwing barriers up, than effectively helping people. I'm extremely supportive of our NHS but these are on a level it becomes tough. I wonder how many people just give up or don't bother contacting them at all, with the sad result of potentially endangering their health, or swamping A&E or worse, find their own medications outside official channels, on the dark web for example.
