A fabulous place to eat for lunch. Family friendly with a good menu choice. From pizzas to juicy steaks, at affordable prices. Good size restaurant with plenty of evening entertainment. Good size portion of food and delicious starters. Located in the heart of the town centre, with access to public transport. The staff are exceptionally friendly and provide excellent table service. I'll definitely be back again.
DO NOT order the wagyu beef steak! I ordered, was offered a cooking option medium rare was requested. The steak arrived, it was between 3 & 5 mm thick less than 1/4" in old money". It is impossible to cook a wafer thin steak anything other than very well done! Luckily, my fiancee ordered the John Dory, which was plentiful and delicious, dinner wasn't a total disaster. Carrot cake was delicious for dessert, the evening wasn't completely ruined!
Excellent food. Excellent entertainment. Excellent value for money. Everything in the picture that isn't a pizza, were sides/appetisers- look at the size! The pizza has a lovely thin base, authentic Italian. Side salad dressing was very tasty and flavourful. Garlic mushrooms were the star of the show! Fantastic flavours and great texture, tasted fresh. Only let down were the carrots because they tasted canned, like you could taste the moist liquid which tinned carrots come in, the seasoning couldn’t hide it. I wasn’t sure on the bruschetta, not crunchy and drenched in oil, wouldn’t recommend. A small gem in hoddesdon- Definitely will be returning!
Love this place, lovely food, lovely service, I was taken ill in there the other week had to sit outside before being picked up and we still payed the full bill even though we had to leave half way through our main meal. That was disappointing. .
Excellent Italian restaurant in Hoddesdon we came upon quite by chance when looking for somewhere to have a spot of lunch. Really nice menu. Great food and service. Will definitely visit again.Food: 5/5
Great food friendly staff. Could do with having post mix for soft drinks as the small bottles don't go far enough and you end up buying more to keep up
Was seated upstairs for a set menu themed night. £33 for set menu which is a good price, food was nice but nothing amazing. There was so many groups of people crammed in there that we couldn't hear the person sitting next to us and we had to shout across the tables to have a conversation, as to which we couldn't. I've left the resturant with a sore throat due to trying to shout. We waited 45 minutes to an hour inbetween courses. The waiters were lovely however trying to serve us our food and drinks was hard because they couldn't get past the tables well because the tables of large groups are placed right next to each other. The singers & music came on about 10pm and they were really good. Was a good atmosphere once they started but just way too crowded, I felt clostrophobic. I wouldn't come back to Marcanatos.
Haven't been to marconartos for a couple of years but now I remember why absolute rubbish drinks bill at the end something needs to be done should be able to pay by at the bar separate and service charge no way what a con you seriously need to sort this so many unhappy people shall not returnFood: 5/5
Staff seemed polite. Food very average, not really fresh Italian food, more like microwaved
Stopped here before going to The Spotlight for a show, and we're glad we did. The restaurant had a good menu and all six of us enjoyed our meals. The menu had a excellent choice, the restaurant was clearly popular as it was filling up at 7pm, and the staff were helpful and attentive. Would definitely re-visit...
