Seriously - you guys are beyond reproach. I don't know if friendliness (but not to the point of being unbritish) is part of your interview process, but wherever I have been into a Maplin establishment, that has been my experience with this particular Birmingham branch being no exception.
I walked in and asked about headphones and a portable USB battery charger. I was clearly directed to exactly what I was looking for and offered honest advice which seemed to come from personal experience and was not based on the higher value item.
Keep doing what you're doin', Maplin!

Possibly the tallest Maplin store in the world!! The store is quite overfacing when first entering, there is so much going on to distract you from your shopping mission - flashing lights, gizmos of all shapes and lots of shiny things. Luckily the staff are usually well trained to get you back on track to find the fuse you went in for!

Do not buy anything from here. They have gone in liquidation you will NOT get a refund

Staff always follow you around and ask if you need help every 2 minutes

Staff lazy, unhelpful and disinterested. Took me 15 minutes to find what I was looking for because the staff would rather chat than do their job. Even when I went to the till, they didn't say a word to me, just talked to each other, scanning my item as if I didn't exist.
After that experience, I'd rather go absolutely anywhere else if I could but they're the only place in Birmingham to sell what I was looking for. I was the only person in the store the entire time so it wouldn't have caused them any inconvenience to stop chatting with each other for 5 minutes and help.
